Shining Light on Hidden Gems #9 - Lexiconic

Explanation

In this series, I will be displaying users who you may or may not know so well, but that I think deserves more credit. This could be that the user has well made quizzes which don't have many plays, or that the user is a great person and should be recognized by more people. Whatever the case may be, I will be talking about it here. This is not an interview, as that would be a direct ripoff of baptistegorce's "Interview of a JetPunker" series, which is not my intention at all. I simply want to spotlight users who I think should be more popular. Enjoy!

Hidden Gem #9 - Lexiconic

I have selected user Lexiconic as my ninth entry in this series because, like all the previous users in the series, makes fabulous quizzes that just don't get enough attention. Lexi's been on the site for 3 years, and over that time, has created some very noteworthy quizzes that I need to highlight here.

Lexiconic's Best Quizzes

Lexi has gained a little more than 30,000 takes as of posting this blog, while only having 123 quizzes. I think this is a good number, considering their account is only 3 years of age. Lexi has two Features, one in English and one in Spanish, both of which don't actually have very many takes, which is surprising to me since I think they are both great quizzes. You should check them out in the links above, since I won't be specifically talking about them below. However, I do want to give you the link to Lexi's most taken Series, which contain the English Feature. All of these quizzes deserve a special spotlight. Anyways, here are what I think Lexi's best quizzes are!

Capital Cities with Two or More Words

Lexi's Capital Cities with Two or More Words is a simple yet great quiz for all the geography nerds. It's the perfect test of how well you know the map and how well you remember every capital. It's Lexi's most taken non-Featured quiz with a little less than 1,500 takes as of posting this blog. It currently has 25 nominations and 5 stars, and probably got a Spotlight back in the day, although I don't know for sure. Either way, people like this quiz, and so do I, and I think it's definitely worthy of a Feature. If I had to critique something, I would note that the gaps between the stacked blocks appear white on Dark Mode, which can be easily fixed be removing the background color. This is by no means a big deal though, as it doesn't hinder the quiz. Just aesthetically, it would look nicer (on Dark Mode).

Elevation of Countries - East or West?

Elevation of Countries - East or West? is one of Lexi's more underrated quizzes if you ask me. This quiz presents just as great of a geography challenge as the quiz above, and really makes you think about the map again! The quiz gives you a country, and you select either East or West depending on where you think the greater elevation of the respective country is. Simple? Yes, but still not easy for everyone. Only having 150 takes, this quiz deserves more attention for sure. I think it should be Featured; it's the perfect geography quiz in my humble opinion.

The Great Grand Quiz

I'm running out of nice things to say, because Lexi's The Great Grand Quiz is just so good. It's still really simply, being quite similar to the quiz above really. While not being purely geographical, it's easy to mix into every quiz. You are given some sort of thing, either a place, item, etc., and must select either Great or Grand depending on what it is. For example, the _____ Wall of China. Which one? Yup, Great. That's the premise. Simple, again, but executed so nicely I couldn't leave it out. Also, Lexi has made more of these kinds of quizzes that you should check out here, namely the Click Among Four or English or Spanish? All of the quizzes in this series are great, but these are my favorite, and maybe yours as well! I hope at least one of these quizzes gets Featured.

Country Flags But Haunted

Country Flags But Haunted is another masterfully crafted quiz. It also fits the spirit of the holidays that just passed, but either way, I would love to see this quiz be on the Front Page for Halloween one of these years. There are so many flag quizzes out there, but this one is just so lovely. It might be the most difficult quiz on this list so far, but I can't speak for everyone. The art of each flag is fantastic, and still identifiable, which is a plus. Lexi also has the Series If Flags Were... which I love so much. My favorite quiz in this Series is the If Country Flags Were... Soviet, which I think is probably the most likely quiz in the Series to be Featured if the Halloween one never does, which I think it should.

Of course, Lexi has many other great quizzes which you should check out HERE. It was honestly pretty difficult to select a handful of quizzes for this blog, since many of them are solid overall. However, these were some of my favorites, and should probably be Featured. If Lexi continues to make quizzes, they may get more attention too.

Lexiconic's Best Blogs

Lexi has only posted 2 blogs, both of which are great in their own right. Lexi's first blog was, well, My First Blog. Awesome name for a first blog if you ask me. It details Lexi's JetPunk journey "so far"; the blog was posted around 2 and a half years after their account was created. The blog also mentions Lexi's first Featured quiz, and other quizzes that people liked.

Lexi's second blog, however, was much more creative. It was a table that listed the most prominent JetPunk users who commonly go by a shortened nickname on the site. For example, one of the usernames in the table was Lexiconic. This name is commonly shortened to Lexi by the majority of users on the site (probably). Lexi then did this with multiple other users. A very fascinating blog to look at, since some nicknames are not very commonly used while others are practically the user's name (for example, I myself feel like my username is just Lucky sometimes by how often I get called that instead of LuckyCat. Nobody says my "full name" anymore, Lucky is just more common now).

Overall, I like both of these blog! Maybe one day Lexi will make more...

Lexiconic in the Community

Lexi is not the most active member of the community. I do see Lexi pop up every now and then, either making a quiz or commenting somewhere. However, Lexi's quizzes are certainly good, earning 2 Features and some spotlights at least. And now, a Hidden Gem blog, which is deserved. I can't really say much here, but not every user will be as active as I am on the site. Maybe that's a good thing?

Well, that wraps up this blog. Overall, I'm just suggesting you support this user. They make really good content that tends to go unnoticed. Not always, but sometimes. I will make more of these in the future, as I already have ideas of who I want to feature in upcoming blogs. Thanks for reading, and if you haven't clicked on those links above, do so now!

Great choice!! I would say his Spanish feature has a respectable amount of takes (in terms of Spanish quizzes), especially considering how long it's been featured

It is a Sudden Death quiz, which probably helps.

Yep! And it's still within the top 40% of all featured sudden death quizzes in Spanish too. I imagine it will climb up a tiny bit too

@Lexiconic, I finally remember why I can't comment on your stuff. I think I commented something onto your JetPunker nicknames blog about how I've never heard of your shortened name form. Sorry! I didn't mean it :(
