Colonies and Territories
The first subject is Colonies and territories the western world had, The western world and in particular Europe created a massive area in the world of colonies and territories.
Due to the industrial revolution that started in England, technology in Europe advanced very far compared to other continents. They had created powerful things from the Industrial Revolution that allowed them to easily establish colonies and empires and conquer countries.
This started in the 15th century with Portugal and Spain, they colonized almost both Americas in a short time. After that, the French, English and Dutch also started, more and more parts of the world were conquered by the Europeans and more and more European countries started these journeys to found colonies.
The colonial period began in the 15th century and has continued since then, albeit in moderation, because most of the colonies were ceded to the Europeans, resulting in independent countries. There are still colonies such as French Guiana, Falklandislands and a few other islands, but not as many as a century/two centuries ago.
Partly due to European expansion, the whole world has learned cultural things, so there are many countries that speak European languages in the world that are not in Europe. So you see that Europe in particular had a lot of influence throughout the world.
In total, all the western world colonised around 98.2% of the world. The only didn't colonise a desert in Saudi Arabia, Parts of the Gobi Desert in China and Parts of land in Thailand. The Western countries weren't interested in these parts of land because there was nothing there. so it was a waste of time, there weren't resources or other things so the western countries weren't interested.
Economy
Now we're going to talk about the economy, as you probably already know the western world is known for wealth. But how rich is the Western world actually. If we take the GDP of all Western countries, we arrive at a total of 56,598 trillion dollars. The world GDP is 109,529 Trillion Dollars. The Western world therefore owns more than half of the world economy, with 35 countries out of 196 and with not even 1/8 of the world's population. Just imagine how rich the Western world is.
Now let's look at the GDP per capita of the Western world compared to the world. The western world has a GDP per capita average of 60,763 dollars per year, the average gdp per capita in the world without the western world is over 12,000 dollars, just consider how rich the western world is and always has been. With Monaco at the top with a GDP per capita of 240,000 dollars, Croatia is at the bottom with more than 21,000 dollars. This is an enormous amount of wealth that exists in the Western world compared to the rest of the world.
Cultural influence
The culture in the western world is exuberantly beautiful with countless languages, inventions, and things you have in your home, let's talk about the languages first, as you know in the second topic I talked about the colonies and the territories that the Western world had and still has. You see a lot of this in contemporary life. In almost every country they speak a European language as a first or second language. In India, for example, as much as a fifth of the population speaks English because it was an English colony. That is no less than 300 million people in one country.
Also, there were many inventions made by the western world. Almost everything that is handmade or made with a machine comes from or was invented in a Western country. Almost everything you have at home other than clothing and small products was created by the western world, buildings, internet, transport etc etc, you can think of so much. Then there is also trade in the world. World trade mainly comes from the EU or China, which generates money. Another cultural influence, for example, is countries that have European companies in their country. Just think of McDonalds, Starbucks, Louis Vuitton or Volkswagen or etc. In every country in the world there is a company that comes from the Western world, whether it is Volkswagen or McDonald's, every country has a Western country company in their country.
Other aspects
There are also other aspects such as healthcare, education, security and employment.
There are no fewer than 17 Western countries in the top 20 of the global peace index
And no fewer than 20 Western countries are in the top 25 countries with the most HDI.
In the top 10 countries for best education, there are 10 Western countries.
In the top 10 countries with the best and most successful cities, no fewer than 10 Western cities and countries are in the top 10. This is calculated from the Global Life-Work balance Index.
From these four aspects that I have just mentioned you can see the Western dominance in the world
i have ALOT more to say but i wont say it here
You're right, the last few centuries have done a LOT to massively increase Western domination
