Dutch Empire

First let's talk about the Dutch Empire itself, The Dutch empire is an empire that ruled over 2% of the world within 150 years. The dutch empire had on there peak 34 countries as there territory. All the countries the dutch had territories in were in 64 different countries. They had colonies in every continent in the world. Only France, Netherlands and Britain have done that. And the Netherlands has 1.5 million people living in the netherlands and the country is the 134 biggest countries. So it's impressive that the dutch created a massive empire for such a small country with a small population. The first settlement of the dutch was in Belgium and Luxembourg and than they went over to other continents. The empire began in 1570 and is still going with territories in the caribbean

you can't really call a nation where they established a few trading settlements a colony, but crazy to see london as a trading post for the dutch. nice blog, can see you put effort into research.

Yeah I know but if its a big or a small settlement, it is still a territory. Thanks that you liked it. I first didn't know either that the Netherlands owned London, but London was not a trading post. a king of the Netherlands ruled over Wales, Scotland And England and also had I thought a territory and ruling over London.
