Return of the JetPunk Empires

Ever wanted to have an empire in the greatest blogging series ever? Well, now's your chance! Welcome to....

This is a series reboot by me, McKenzieFam. My enormous thanks to Geopro for inventing, writing, and running the original series, and giving me permission to continue it here. I can honestly say that I would not be where I am today on my JetPunk journey without DOTJE. Anyway, without further ado, let the new story begin!

It is now two years since the signing of the Peace Treaty, and much has changed. In the wake of several internal crises and a global recession, some disgruntled South American citizens decided to start a revolution, with the aim of ending the rule of the Empire and a return to the original countries of South America. The revolution swept through the EMG like a tsunami, leaving Emperor MG17 out of an empire, and Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Argentina as independent countries. People in other empires around the globe were inspired to follow their example, and more empires across Europe and the Americas began collapsing.

In North America, Chilefornian soldiers locked down the border with the Nauru Empire as the uprising spread across the continent. The United States officially existed again, as the states announced their independence from Nauru and declared a state of anarchy. The remaining territories of the Nauru Empire became independent territories, and Emperor Afghabwe fled Nauru to Sydney.

Things were not looking much better in the Pacific Empire. FacterLiger urgently mobilized his troops to contain the spreading rebellion in the Philippines, but this only made the empire more of the revolutionaries' enemy. FacterLiger was taken captive, and eventually declared the dissolution of the Pacific Empire.

Zootuber3000's Imperial Union fell apart not much longer. Split apart across the globe, it was an easy target for anarchy. In the Vampire Empire, Angbo fearing the same would happen, officially invited the revolutionaries there to jointly administer the empire. However, the leaders soon grew tired of having to run a country. Angbo was abducted and taken to a secret safe house, and the Vampire Empire ceased to exist. Rather than anarchy, the states that made up the Empire declared themselves to be independent nations.

The Med-Atlantic Empire and Greater Macedonia tried to keep Europe secure, but soon rowdy mobs of citizens were calling for anarchy throughout GrandOldLand and the British Isles Empire. Emperors ClutchInferno and BGG soon gave in and dissolved their empires too.

The leaders of the remaining empires called an emergency meeting in Dubai to discuss the crisis. Geopro and MKF arrive first.

MKF: Great to see you again, Geopro! How's the last year been for you?

Geopro: I've been great, thanks! The GSE has never been better, and fortunately the revolutionary ideas do not seem to have spread to my empire.

MKF: Well, at least that's good. The Blaze Empire has only just finished fighting a war against dragons, and now we have this!

The doors to the conference room open and the QuizzerBros enter, followed by most of the other emperors.

Geopro: Whew, it's been a while since I last saw all of you together. Emperor Aficionado, what have you been doing? Last I heard you were building cities on the Moon?

Aficionado: Oh yes! I have built two more cities on the Moon and am now looking forward to colonise Mars. The citizenry is happy, the empire is stronger than ever, we have good relations with almost every other country. What else can I ask for!

MKF: And Qy? You legally changed your name to FreeStater in the midst of a war. Nickelz, you were dead! How are you even here?

Nickelz: The resurrection technology developed by that psycho doctor seemed to work. King Wako is still in the hospital.

FreeStater: What can I say, I wanted some sort of return to normalcy. Otherwise we're chilling.

Geopro: cathlete, I'm actually a bit surprised to see you here. The IS basically became a hermit state for the recent past, how'd that go for you?

cathlete: That's right...our attempt at neutrality has been practically futile. As a matter of fact, it's hurt Imperium Sanctus more than anything else. My presence here today may be interpreted as an official interest in re-establishing foreign relations.

MKF: TNT, Ethaboo, turnbacktwo, thegoatisgoaty, JP180, QuizzerBros, I can't even remember when we last met. What's new?

TheNatureThread: Chilefornia is going swimmingly in terms of stability and with regard to progress!

Ethaboo: Nothing especially new coming from Sawiwi. We have been working internally in our nation, and would rather not disclose any further details regarding the matter. I, as a diplomat of the nation, only trust others under lengthened relations over time.

thegoatisgoaty: I've had to lock down my whole western border to protect from the revolution, but otherwise I'm fine. We are strengthening and upgrading our infrastructure, and the Macedonian Empire is thriving.

JetPunker180: We are currently researching on new ways to survive the harsh weather of state. We might relocate our Winter capital to Mogadishu. That's all!

QuizzerBros: We've both been great! Things have been going well since the peace treaty, and we have sorted out a few problems concerning refugees in Baku. Since the peace treaty has eliminated external threat to a certain extent, we have been focusing on strengthening our local economy, and increasing public welfare for our citizens.

turnbacktwo: My scientists have been developing new ways to thrive in the desert climates of the Med-Atlantic empire, and we are quickly recovering from the recession.

The door to the conference room opens again and two strangers walk in. Geopro greets them.

Geopro: You must be the new Emperors, ItzIngenious of the Veggie Caliphate, and ColinShadow of the Korean Empire.

The newcomers speak.

ColinShadow: That's right! I'm looking to lead the Korean Empire forward into a new period of progress.

ItzIngenious: It is taking some time to recover from the mistakes made by my predecessors, but I believe the Veggie Caliphate remains one of the strongest nations on the planet.  Since the defeat of Riniv, our quality of life has drastically improved, reaching heights never before seen, even in MiecraftMan’s prime.

MKF: OK, enough pleasantries. We all know why we're here, what are we going to do about the new territories formed out of the anarchy of the collapsed empires?

FreeStater: We ought to have some sort of administration set up. We can't afford any sort of anarchy, anywhere, right now.

Aficionado: I think we should let them be independent. Now is not the time to exert expansionist propaganda on these countries. I also suggest to keep an eye on them for the time being.

cathlete: I do not think they are ready to establish sovereignty. Perhaps we can split up territory and agree to oversee these territories, leaving them with a fair level of autonomy?

TheNatureThread: Sounds good, we don't seem to have an imminent Cold War or anything, so it should work out if we occupy them like Germany after WWII.

Nickelz: There's certain historically pertinent territories I need administration over.

Ethaboo: I believe in no such expansionism! The new nations that have been given independence are to have the right to choose among themselves. If any newly independent nations are to be treated unjustly, I can guarantee the higher officials of my just nation will not sit back and watch the carnage.

QuizzerBros: We have no imperial aspirations in South America at this point in time. We think it would be wise to perhaps protect their autonomy. However, we do agree with FreeStater, that we cannot afford to have these anarchies to spread to our own empires, and something must be done about it.

turnbacktwo: Imagine what the world would be like now if we hadn't been allowed to begin our own empires! We really had ought to leave them be. Besides, they wanted anarchy, now they got it.

ItzIngenious: It would be unfortunate if our actions caused these newly formed nations to view us as cruel tyrants, but the amount of autonomy these new nations are getting concerns me.  Some action must be taken to either conquer them, or force them into neutrality.

thegoatisgoaty: Well, there are definitely a few territories I wouldn't mind adding to my empire. We should divide them amongst ourselves.

ColinShadow: I think that we should occupy some of them and leave others alone, after our defeat in the Great War Korean people have trauma of warfare so occupy some minor nations, make everything gained equal, and leave the more important nations alone.

JetPunker180: I guess those collapsed should be either given to neighbouring nations or should be left untouched for anyone wanting to participate and take the charge.

Geopro: I think, then, that the best idea would be to form some kind of administration or international board to keep an eye on these nations and help them stabilize from their respective revolutions. Good idea?

The other emperors have varying levels of agreement, but they decide Geopro's idea is the right one and move forward with the plan, setting up an administration that will attempt to  provide some semblance of order to the anarchist zone. But, unbeknownst to them, across the globe in North America, a new power was quickly rising.

The Texan citizens were naturally pretty concerned when the Pacific Empire broke up, and by concerned I mean they loaded up their guns, jumped in their trucks, and forcibly took power of the Lone Star state. Only 48 hours after Texas joining the New United States, they split off again to become their own country. A large part of the Pacific Empire's continental army joined the new Independent Texan Republic and formed the Texas State Guard. All power was consolidated to Houston.

Already a new country had risen from the ashes. How many more may follow, nobody knows..
