Interesting Facts Can Kill

+6

Introduction

I have a theory that interesting facts can be dangerous, giving away top secret information and such

. 'A truck of banana's can fail a radiation test' is a fact that could be used to smuggle objects with light radiation into certain places in a truck of banana's, as it is expected that there will be slight radiation. This is an example of a DANGEROUS fact.

I feel as if many interesting facts can potentially be a great risk to society. And think it will be interesting to see in what way are interesting facts dangerous. Starting from the first IF page...

1. Mozambique has an AK-47 on it's flag

Uh oh... Already stumped on the first one. So much for the theory...

It's fine. Having an AK-47 is not good, as it encourages the people in the country to draw guns for a pass-time. In Australia, we have activities in school where we draw flags. Just imagine all those 5-year olds drawing vivid images of their national flag and pride - the AK-47!

Also, this shows the violent history of the country (I think), and lets the people who are reading the fact know that they may be able to illegally purchase firearms at Mozambique... Now enough with the talk about guns!

2. Gandhi never won the Nobel Peace Prize, but Yasser Arafat did.

This fact shows how dangerous and violent our world is :(, and knowing it may encourage people to be violent and still nominate for a Nobel Peace Prize (as did Hitler and Mussolini).

In the comments, someone mentioned how Gandhi was killed before he could win a Prize. This means the fact could lead to criminals harming people who are peaceful and are about to win peace prizes (see, I told you interesting facts CAN kill).

3.  In 1698, Russia created a beard tax to encourage men to shave their beards and look more like men in other parts of Europe.

Uh...

This fact may give extreme government weird ideas that take away the money and freewill of their citizens, while potentially using them as spies. Without money, people may starve. Without freewill, people may become mentally unstable. This interesting fact is dangerous, because it will potentially give governments weird, citizen harming ideas.

4.  Lake Baikal is both the deepest and the oldest lake in the world.

AGH. Natural geography and biology facts are the worst ones to think of good ideas... How can aged lakes do any harm???

I guess people will study things about the lake, and go SCUBA diving or something to learn more. And other people can use the opportunity to sabotage the people who are diving. Because the lake is deep, it is worse for the divers if someone does decide to sabotage them.

5.  In 1922, people in New York City rioted because of men wearing straw hats  after the date it was considered socially acceptable to wear them.

I guess this fact's original intent is to teach about fashion and how they shouldn't put on stereotypes. But it could be the very opposite... This fact is setting up a bad example of what to do if society puts pressure on people, and the people have other thoughts. Nowadays, protest are hardly peaceful. This bad example could lead to people being injured for the sake of someone wearing a school uniform, which according to the law is 'not socially acceptable' (maybe the students may agree?).

Conclusion + Whole month quiz drop (hopefully)

Thanks for letting me waste your time reading my blog. If you have any suggestions, or feel like this blog is too short/long/boring/violent please tell me in the comments. Sorry if anything in this blog offends you (which I hope it doesn't).

As the title says, I will be doing a whole month quiz drop (if I can...). I have a lot of quiz prepared, and at the start of the week, I'll spin a wheel to see what two quizzes will be released per day (I know, two quizzes per day is WAY less than what some of you are doing, but still being in school, I find that making quizzes so regularly takes up too much of my time and effort). I will make a blog/MB poster (please tell me below which one) every week or so about what quizzes will be released. If you want to give any quiz/quiz drop structure suggestions, please comment below.

Also, I will be releasing a secret quiz on the first day of the month for Insaniot's quiz competition.

Thanks! 😁

As an American, I am jealous of Mozambique. The US is known for guns! Where is our AK-47 or other type of gun lol

Great blog, maybe add a few pictures to break up the words?

True story connected to your banana theory...

I was once bringing a full truck load of chocolate cakes from France to the UK. On entering the customs shed in Portsmouth, i was selected for a search. They unloaded all the pallets of cakes but obviously found nothing untoward. The customs official told me that they have to search these types of load because the chocolate disguises the smell of drugs, they also cannot put the sniffer dog into the load because of contamination.

So there is perhaps some truth in the theory of the bananas hiding something more sinister!
