Interesting Facts Can Kill #2

+4

Introduction

Hopefully you've seen my previous blog in the series, and by now have concluded that 'interesting facts' are in fact extremely dangerous data leaks, which will certainly lead to injuries, injustices, and in many radical cases, death.

Maybe they should be banned, and QM should stop updating the IF page... (this is a joke btw)

6. To improve traffic safety, Drachten, Netherlands removed most street lights and signs from its city center so that drivers would be forced to slow down and pay attention.

An extremely long fact to have as a title, but not a fact that is hard to make dangerous.

Like the second fact mentioned on the previous blog, this fact is a perfect example of a bad government. The event and change itself in the Netherlands has probably injured people. People already drive dangerously in places with street lights and signs. Removing the signs will eventually make people more cautious, but probably only after a dozen or so accidents.

This is an example of a bad government, and may result in governments (attempting to) copy them, and lead to more injuries (again).

And maybe, without signs, people will waste a lot of time in the city, if they don't know where they are, and if they ask someone where they are, they cannot understand the name of the city (Drachten)

Fun fact: Instead of a census, the Netherlands government gathers information about people from migration forms and social media accounts (according to my English teacher, and a debate I went to). Such a bad government... Wait, should I be scolding Belgium instead?

7. The colossal squid is thought to be even larger than the giant squid.

This is the dreaded biology/geography fact... a wolf in sheep's clothing... And plain annoying, as it is extremely hard to educate people about this seemingly harmless fact. It's not like you'd understand anyways... (def not an excuse to skip this one)

I guess this fact could lead to zoos and private collectors (do they even exist in worlds outside the MCU?) to underestimate what animal they're buying/renting. This could lead to bad conditions for the animals as they are in the wrong enclosure, or bad work conditions for the person looking after them.

Also bad for a person who (maybe?) want to eat the animal (who knows? I'm not going much deeper into this...)

8. The colossal squid has the largest eyes of any animal.

QM officially has an unusual interest in colossal squids.

I guess that this fact could be dangerous, as anyone who attempts to measure the eye could end up stuck in a blink or something. Or does that only happen in movies...

9. Only 7 prisoners were inside the Bastille when it was stormed during the French Revolution.

This is one of those facts that are contrary to what people think. It could lead to people thinking that they can riot and cut off people's heads (no more details) just to 'save' a few people. This event in history is too violent to repeat, and letting the general public know of such (useless) details could lead into them getting the wrong idea (and attempting to storm a detention room and hit teachers with rulers because someone got a detention for wearing socks that have a Nike symbol (not that is has happened...but maybe...))

10. Fortune cookies were invented in the United States by a person who was born in Japan.

Another one of those facts which are opposite to what the general public thinks. I guess this fact was originally meant to be about how people can make money and leave a mark on society through good ideas, but the general message to me is that entrepreneurs can make a lot of money by making scam items, hence the 'dangerousness' of this quote.

EXTRA FACT: Mosquitos sometimes pee when they bite you

KiloNova has suggested the fact the 'Mosquitos sometimes pee when they bite you', so here it is, in the extra section of this blog. Unless he purposely suggested a biology fact to annoy me, as if two biology facts aren't enough...

Still, this is a DANGEROUS fact! If people know this fact, and are bitten by mosquitoes, they might over-react, not wanting mosquito pee on them. This may lead to them making rash decisions, and do dangerous things.

Also, people can use this information to purposely make mosquitos bite people, with intent on scaring people. Facts that are used badly = dangerous

Conclusion + Quiz drop info days 1-3

Do I need another conclusion?

I feel as if I've had so much fun wasting my own time writing this that 5 facts feel so little... I should change it to 10-20, to avoid making (at the time of writing this) potentially 224 blogs... I don't want the blogs to be too long, but also don't want to make too many... Should I only include the interesting ones, make the paragraphs shorter or keep it the same???

Also feel free to give fact suggestions!

And finally, the first few quiz drop quizzes will be partially released! (Only their names, and a short description)

1/9: (name is secret, and will only be shown after it has been released) and Bible by Letter - L (very self explanatory, an addition to my Bible by Letter Series)!

2/9: Named or Unnamed - The Bible (self explanatory) and Match the Country, Flag and Capital #2 (YAY! Also self explanatory)!

3/9: Countries by Bordering Country and Number of Borders (Given up on the description by now) and Click to Translate - Morse Code!

Btw, I've made a lot of Bible themed quizzes, so please don't complain if you aren't a fan (but still give it a go!) And also please, if you can, suggest quiz ideas (non-SGV, unless you want to waste a lot of time teaching me how it works)

Thanks for somehow reaching the end of this lengthy blog! (at least it LOOKS lengthy in this editing format. I just checked the preview and it looks like nothing compared to Capy's blogs. I guess he wastes a lot of space with

(fails to notice that I just copied Capy and 'wasted a lot of space with empty lines' (but it does look like a bigger blog now...(fails to notice that I'm using too many brackets and may confuse people (and myself, being not bothered to count all of them))))).

And it thought mosquitos lay eggs in you, turns out they also pee on you !

SVGs are actually not as hard as you think, its really just drawing things and naming the pieces of drawings(if that makes any sense). Unless you want to make complicated stuff, its quite easy.

As for quiz ideas, you could make "John Smiths of other countries", because it is known for being the most common name in english, so you can do the same in other languages/countries if that makes any sense.

And peanuts can be used to make bombs, like dynamites and gunpowder
