Interesting Facts Can Kill #3

+5

Intro

Hello there. This is the third edition out of my (eventually) +224 blogs (yay).

Today I will be exploring the dangers....

Hopefully you've read the previous...

In this blog, I will show you how facts are potentially dangerous

Summary after all my failed starting attempts: This blog is probably filled with my horrible sentence starters and half-hearted ideas. You probably understand what this blog is about by now, unless you accidentally clicked the blog without looking at the title (can you???)

Now to the DANGEROUS facts, page 3:

11. Mark Twain was born two weeks after the appearance of Halley's Comet in 1835 and died one day after it returned 75 years later.

Uh oh... This is one of those boring history 'facts'. I might as well deem this one harmless... All in favour?

Wait... NO?!?

(Still using Capy's method. Thanks! Wait... Is it copyrighted???)

Uh... It encourages people to find out around what significant event they were born near and waste their time doing so (BORING). It is probably meant to be a harmless fact but in the eyes of someone evil like me,   but it can be used by certain evil people for bad uses, like wasting people's times and distracting them from doing more useful things with they time, like birdwatching, or chess, or trying to debunk the evilness of 'interesting' facts.

12. John Adams and Thomas Jefferson both died on the Fourth of July, 1826.

Yay? A patriotic fact? I know nothing about USA at the moment, so please wait while I call my friend Capybarra!

Rinnggg Rinnggg!

Rinnggg Rinnggg!

Capybarra: Hi!

Me: Hi Capybarra, I need help with a fact, do you have time to educate me, and the whole of JetPunk on how it is dangerous? The fact is: John Adams and Thomas Jefferson both died on the 4th of July, 1826.

Capybarra: Alright, so Adams was the second president of the United States (after that guy with the powdered wig), while Jefferson was the third (after Adams and the powdered wig guy listed above!).

And... they happened to die on American independence day, showing their willingness to the great United States of America!

Powdered wig guy, his hair turned into stone over time

Me: Um... Is that a good thing??? See, this fact is brainwashing people!!! Oh, and thanks Capy! Bye!

13.  Marie Curie was both the first woman to win a Nobel Prize and the first person of any gender to win twice.

Maybe I should have though this blog through before starting... QM is seriously annoying me with all the similar themed (the theme is 'boring') facts - All history-related. At the moment all history facts are merely setting up bad examples...

This fact is bad because it teaches greed, and doesn't show the basic etiquette even five year olds understand - Sharing! Imagine you invented/discovered something life-changing, and was about to win the most prestigious prize in history, and someone butted in front of you, to receive their second, leaving you with nothing...N O T H I N G!!!!

See? This fact is setting up a bad example. It's unknown and (apparently) 'interesting' to most people. But it's all because it's so dangerous they don't let kindergarteners learn. All the fundamentals of life are learned from kinder, aren't they???

14 The city of Paris is not named after the figure from Greek mythology. Instead, it is named for an ancient Celtic tribe called the Parisii.

Did anyone even think that Paris was named after Paris??? Wait, that sounded better in my head. Please ignore it. Now on to the part where I deem this fact extremely dangerous...

This fact may make people more interesting in Greek mythology and that sort of messed-up icky thing that will mess with their heads, instead of getting them to learn history and memorise all the obscure Celtic tribe names (hey, that could be a quiz idea!!! I'm not making one, so if you have time, feel free to steal borrow my idea (and you'll have to give it back! (evil laugh) (just joking, you don't need to)))

15.The United States is older than Germany. Germany did not become a unified country until 1871.

Yay... Another boring history fact...

I'm lazy... Can I call Capy again??? Or... Trompete79??? How about both???

Capy: I know nothing about Germany, but I'm pretty sure GERMANY was unified in 1989, while the GERMAN EMPIRE united in 1871. So the fact should say "The United States is older than Germany. Germany did not become a unified country until 1989." or it could say this.. "The United States is older than the German Empire. The German Empire did not become a unified empire until 1871. But who am I to ask? I know nothing about Germany!

(Oops, I forgot to hang up...)

Me: Excuse me, Capy... Please don't interrupt me >:( Wait were you eavesdropping into my other facts??? NOO... All the other facts were meant to be surprises...

Well, back to boring history teacher mode (wait... Is that what it's called???), this fact is dangerous because of undefined reasons, and figuring it out will put your JetPunk reputation (and life?) at great risk.

Before diving deeper into the origins of this fact, consider yourself warned

Suggested facts:

Me: No... I was hoping for someone to recommend a boring fact, and I could ignore it, as the title states 'interesting facts can kill'. Boring facts were never accounted for (maybe they should be banned too?)

Well...

Anonymousbear25 suggested: 'Peanuts can be used to make bombs, like dynamite and gunpowder'

Wizzandy suggested: Bacteria are becoming resistant to antibiotics and vaccines that are thrown away or flushed down the toilet.

Tekau suggested: It is estimated that be 2050 there will be more plastic than fish in the sea (by weight'

Now I'll spin the wheel to see which one I will use, and the rest will have another chance of being dangerfied (JetPunk Dictionary: To be deemed as dangerous, as a convincing reason is given, mostly used for 'Interesting' facts)

WINNING FACT

Congratulations for Wizzandy for having the 'winning' fact!!! Now on the the extra section...

Extra 'Interesting' Fact 2. Bacteria are becoming resistant to antibiotics and vaccines that are thrown away or flushed down the toilet.

Me: This is yet another dreaded biology fact... (this blog is going sooo well). This is probably meant to raise awareness to tell people to not throw biohazards down the toilet (who even does that???) or dispose of them irresponsibly. But it might as well give ideas for people to do so... And they will begin purposely destroying the environment, to make super-enhanced bacterium. Maybe this fact could pave way for a bioweapon...

See, Wizzandy??? The fact you've provided is 100% DANGEROUS.

Empty Lines Strategy

Me: Oh, and also before you hang up, did you, by any chance, copyright the 'using-empty-lines-to-fill-out-space' blog-writing tactic???

Capybarra: For the empty lines tactic, I've been using it ever since I started Country Showdown.

So.. the empty lines strategy is in fact not copyrighted, so anyone can use it!

This blog looks rather short.. let's make it look longer!

See! For making it this far, you get a reward!

Your reward is on the link, and you get to hear why I use it!

I use it (Me: The empty lines, not the reward) for two main reasons.

1. So my blogs don't look short

2. Because it's easier to understand when it's more spread out. Take (one of) my latest blog(s) for example:

The blog says:

KiloNova for the Gophers with a score of 14!

Gophers Average: 14

Bass Average: 0

Insaniot, cathlete, and thegoatisgoaty all tied with scores of thirteen!

Gophers: 13.5

Bass: 13

Say it looked something like this:

KiloNova for the Gophers with a score of 14!

Insaniot, cathlete, and thegoatisgoaty all tied with scores of thirteen!

ItzIngenious was next with a score of twelve!

MeMeMe333 (Me: Hey, that's me😄) and InfiniteBulk got scores of 11!

Which one was easier to understand? The first one? Exactly.

THANKS. I don't have any quizzes left, and need to make a lot more. Please feel free to spam the comments with suggestions or something. Something interesting and worth making.

Not a Conclusion

At this point I'm giving up... These facts are so anti-climatic (or, 'hard to educate ignorant people on the dangers of them). :(

But...

I've reached (rather disappointing in the views of the big quiz creators) 100 takes on one quiz, on the 30/8/25: Vegetables - Sudden death! (Don't know why hyperlink things aren't working on the blog.)

Oh, my hyperlinks finally work!

Capy: Um.. it just did?

Me: Also, please don't give me too many fact suggestions, as I will only cover 1 per blog (I feel like now that I've found out that Capy's tactic isn't copyrighted, my blogs are going to be

W

A

Y

L

O

N

G

E

R)

(Ignoring the fact that after Capy's lesson and the quiz drop, it already is)

Limit is one fact suggestion per user at a time (Wizzandy can now suggest another one). If you want, you can change your current fact.

Thanks for reading the blog.

Sincerely, MeMeMe333 (and Capybarra)

Apparently they used to do that in the message board. Btw, that was Capy. He actually wrote that part (and hyperlinked it).

Interesting fact: if you replace Nha Trang with Pyongyang in a Spanish project, chances are things won't go well (for Pyongyang at least)

Ok heres an interesting fact.

Common drinks actually contain a lot more sugar than you might think. Apple juice, which you probably think is very beneficial and healthy for you, contains 10 grams of sugar per 100ml, or 25 grams in an average 250ml glass. A standard can of coca cola has 39 grams, or 9 teaspoons of sugar. And don't get me started on milkshakes because you will usually get ones that contain 45 grams , but some can have a whopping 70 grams or more. Consuming too much sugar can make you diabetic.

yeah tbh this is too long
