I'm talking about 262 Fifth Avenue. It is currently under construction. And like other buildings, specifically 111 West 57th Street, 432 Park Avenue, Central Park Tower, it is controversial.
What is 262 Fifth Avenue?
262 Fifth Avenue is a controversial, 860-foot luxury super-slender residential skyscraper located in the NoMad neighborhood of Manhattan, New York. Developed by Five Points Development Group, it is designed by Russian architecture firm Meganom with interiors by Norm Architects.
Why Would New York City Allow This?
Well, unlike Paris, London, or any other city. New York City doesn't have zoning laws to protect views of buildings. While New York City does have zoning laws, it doesn't protect these.
What is 262 Fifth Avenue Intended To Be Used For?
Well, dear reader.
262 Fifth Avenue is an 860-foot luxury residential "pencil tower" in Manhattan’s NoMad neighborhood. It is used as a boutique condominium building, featuring only 26 exclusive full-floor and duplex units.
Just imagine a luxury penthouse only for 26 ultra rich people while the rest of the city lives in crammed apartments and rat-infested subways.
