My Christian Denomination

+10

Why so long?

I am a 16 year old Christian, so why haven't I chosen a denomination of Christianity to follow yet? The answer is simple, I have both minor and major issues of all Denominations I have came across such as Who is in power, How to define God, Who gets into Heaven, and certain political views. Over the 16 years I have been alive I have been shaped by many factors such as location, politics, and my background history. All of these factors have shaped with how I see Christianity.

Just recently BautyArg has suggested that I was Episcopalian (a denomination of Christianity), but I have some minor issues with them that I will not overlook. I refuse to call myself Episcopalian, so what am I? I am definitely a Protestant, but that is divided of Denominations so which one? Find out Below!

My Solution

So I have created a solution to my Denominations problem. I will not attempt to change any of my beliefs to fit into a Denomination nor will I put myself in a Denomination I do not have the same beliefs with. So what am I? Well I am creating a new Denomination of Christianity. This Denomination will be called Probiblicism combining Bible with Protestant.

Probiblicism will be my current solution to what Denomination I am in.

What Does Probiblicism Believe?

Probiblicism believes in the following:

The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit make up God.

In order for a person to get into Heavan, they must Repent and Believe that Jesus died for everyone on Earth.

A person does not have to go to Church to connect with God

Jesus had to die in order to complete God's plan and to defeat death, take our place of suffering and punishment that we deserved, rise from the dead, and Defeat Satan's plan

God knows who is going to make the choice to repent and follow Jesus, but does not choose who does and doesn't. We also are to spread his word to help the people he knows will go to Heavan.

God loves everyone but that does not mean that certain groups or other people can hurt his heart by going against the Bible and his word and those people who don't repent will go to Hell.

Swearing is a challenge that we are to overcome. Everytime we swear, it hurts God.

Jesus will return to the Earth when widespread wars, famines, earthquakes, and pestilences, the rise of false prophets and deception, the persecution of believers, and the gospel being preached to all the world.

If you don't think God is okay with it, then it probably is not okay.

-

Probiblicism believes in many more things, but this is just a simple look into it (Also into my mind)

How it works

Probiblicism works as a set of rules that are to be followed (Mainly because there aren't many followers because I am the only one in this Denomination). You don't have to go to Church or be within the same political views as everyone else. The Bible is the law (+ whatever country laws you must abide by). There is no one Bible to abide by, the word of God is to be followed no matter what. Unlike many Denominations of any religion, Probiblicism does not have a symbol or picture.

I am not trying to reform the Church, just simply making a Denomination that I can fit into.

Do you think the Holy Spirit is actively perfoming miracles, or those ceased after the apostles?

Also, what's ur view in the sacraments?

Should we baptizw believers? O even baptize at all

Miracles continue to occur. Also being baptized is something those who are following and will always follow Christ shall do.

What do you mean by "there is no one Bible to abide by?" Do you mean that a single authoritative Biblical Canon does not exist, or that there is no single correct translation of the texts traditionally regarded as being in the Biblical Canon, or something else?

There is not a version of the Bible that is the only one that is correct.

But are you talking about the actual canon (what books are in the Bible) or translations of the Biblical texts (ESV, KJV, etc.)?

Translations of the texts.

Also, what problems do you have with other denominations that are major enough to prevent you from joining them?

Many issues including Interpretation of the Bible, corruption present in some, and the way they teach us

Well the Pope in Catholicism (historically corrupted and wants authority) and I used to go to a Methodist Church until they asked us to not come back again.

Isn't this just Lutheranism ("sola scriptura" and stuff)?

Do you believe in the doctrine of predestination?

No, and I don't believe in predestination. I believe God knows who is but he does not choose (otherwise everyone would be saved)

Baptism is something that should only be done by people who will not change their faith and truly know that Christ is the one true savior

I agree on that. Btw, why are you 'probiblicism' and not 'baptist', then. What's the difference?

Probiblicism is literally built on my beliefs (because I made it) and Baptism has stuff I don't agree with

As a non-denominational protestant, I agree with a ton of what you say here! Very good points and you seem well-versed in the texts. In all honesty, I think the major point for a denomination to be "Christian" is that we ultimately agree that Jesus died for our sins and rose three days later.

Denominations disagree on a lot of different "smaller" (Though not in any way "small") idealogies, but I think we should get along better than we do, because division among the church isn't good for anyone!

I do think you are right in saying a person doesnt have to go to church to connect with God, as there are other solitary methods- However, the Bible repeatedly encourages Christians to actively be in communities so that other Christians can help us through struggles.

Again, not saying anything against what you said, because it is in fact true- One can have a very strong personal relationship with the Lord without being in church. Though I do think there is a benefit to being with others of the same faith. Youth Groups, Community events, etc.

Either way I respect your choices as a Christian- we believe the same things ideally and that's what really matters.

I honestly agree with literally everything else you said!

I am in a Christian youth group (Young Life) and do think that community/others can and do help you. I was just saying that you don't have to go to a Church to do it. Surprised some people actually share a similar view

Makes sense.

Honestly yeah, my entire church is non-denominational, though our teachings are often general enough to fit with other denominations.

But our core beliefs really do line up with the majority of things you said.

Just a "Non-Denominational Protestant" Church. We don't really align with a major denomination, but try to generalize a lot of our teachings to be inclusive to everyone.

this is certainly interesting, I don't know how I should feel about this. I'm not one to delve into deep parts of Christianity, even though I am a Christian. I kind of forgotten my denomination, but if I have the correct one, I refuse to name it. I do agree with roughly everything here.

I feel like it doesn't really matter what denomination you belong to, as long as it is biblical, an goes by what the Bible says.

Wait, you don't believe that people who don't follow God will go to Hell???

It means that while God loves everyone on Earth, some people have chosen to not follow God and they go against God's word. By the Bible, these people will go to Hell and not Heaven as Hell is the place where nonbelievers go.

This is true, can you more clearly articulate your belief of the Trinity? The reason being that there are so many Trinitarian heresies, and most of them result from trying to simplify the complex mystery of the Triune God.

The Bible never stated a specific time. Just when widespread wars, famines, earthquakes, and pestilence, the rise of false prophets and deception, the persecution of believers, and the gospel being preached to all the world

Widespread wars? ✅

Famines? ✅

Earthquakes? ✅ ✅

Pestilence? ✅

The rise of false prophets and deception? ✅✅✅

Persecution of believers? ✅✅✅

The gospel being preached to all the world? Sadly ❌ :(

We're pretty much almost there. We got all the bad stuff, now we just need the good stuff.

I am an atheist, but I'd say all of these have been satisfied, so according to Christianity the end times are soon

For the last one (the gospel being preached all over the world) just look how widespread Christianity is already. It's already present worldwide, even in Muslim majority countries there are Christians.

(Again I am an atheist so I don't really believe in the second coming or end times as said in Christianity, but that's what I suppose is correct according to the Christian faith)

God is our judge, and we all are His creation: even if He loves us, he should punish us to be just, no crime must be punished. Ask a judge to pardon homicides since you fear the criminals will go to jail, and that the judge doesn't care or love the criminals; the judge gave them opportunities to repent, but they didn't take them.

Christ is present on the Eucharist (Holy Communion). Baptism, at least what I believe, will clean you only if you truly accept Christ and don't do evils later in life. The water should only be gotten from a river though.

Which are the foundational beliefs of your denomination?

How many leniency on which specific issues do you give to the other probiblicists? Which disagreements would make a person not apt to join your church?
