Hello everyone! Today, I'm going to start a new series that'll be quite long. This is the County Overviews Series, a series where I possibly go over all of the American counties (and county-equivalents) and make a quick summary and blog about it, just so I can tell you guys about them and teach you something. To begin this journey, we'll start off with my home county, Sedgwick County, Kansas. Let's begin!
Entrance
Sedgwick County is a county located in southern Kansas. It's county seat is Wichita, the most populated city in Kansas. Despite this, it is only the second-most populous county in the state, only behind Johnson County. The county was named for John Sedgwick, who was the highest ranking Union general killed in the American Civil War. The county was established on the 26th of February, 1867.
As of 2020, the population is estimated to be at 523,828 at a total size of 1,009 mi^2, making the population density about 519 people/mi^2. Most residents are between the ages of 20 to 39, making up over a quarter of the population. About 20% of residents in Sedgwick County have a bachelor's degree. The median household income is $60,364.
History
The land that was now Sedgwick County was ruled by the Osage and Wichita tribes. It was the home of many discoveries for many explorers, such as Kit Carson and Francisco Coronado. The earliest European settler in the vicinity was M. DuTissenet. The land was claimed by France, then given to Spain, then given back to France. Then, the land was given the U.S. in the Louisiana Purchase, later where some parts were made to become Kansas.
The county was officially established in 1867, in which the moniker is the namesake of Major General John Sedgwick. In 1870, Wichita was elected to be the county seat.

I don't even think JetPunk will even exist by then...
10/15 per blog
No counties with like a population of 5k
Combine counties with similar geography, climate, architecture, demographics, etc.
county master has to grind through every county blog now
oakland, michigan?
As per the typical, great blog for just being your second!
Lastly, maybe you could assemble a team of people to do stuff like that. Apparently, if you get 10 people doing one blog per day, you'll be done in a year!
I commend you on your quest sir, however, to save your sanity may I humbly suggest that you combine them into several blogs, maybe do a quick resume of each county instead of in depth, just in case someone is really interested in a particular county you could add a link for each one. You have up to 50k words per blog, maybe you could split each state into three or four blogs each with a certain amount of counties.
Whatever you decide to do, I wish you the best of luck and I look forward to reading your blogs!
Maybe when you've finished you could start on the UK, then France, Germany, Russ...well you get the idea!
Happy New Year!
