I don't know if you realized, but there are two Kansases in the puzzle. You can also get it by choosing the Kansas within Arkansas. I did this and the secret message was messed up. I know this isn't that big of a deal, but I just thought I'd point it out.

Yes I am very aware. There is no way around this. The only alternative is to remove Arkansas from the puzzle, but then it would not include all 50 states!

Virginia is on here twice... I did the one inside West Virginia but then I found the "real" one I presume. Idk how that would work. It also messes with the Hidden Message.

To fix the issue with Kansas and Virginia, you can also remove those two words from the puzzle. That way, to validate those words, we’ll just need to select them in ARKANSAS and WESTVIRGINIA.
