I know this comes up in every quiz in which it's an answer, but could you please accept Chechenya?

That name is wrong. It's like saying Englishland instead of England. However, Chechen as a type-in for Chechen Republic of Ichkeria would be nice.

"What country did Russia invade in 2008?

Georgia"

You mean whaaaat? Georgia was the one who attacked Russia just to stick to the truth....

You are right, an ignorant question, South Ossetia is culturally Russian too.

Level 74

Invade is not synonymous with "begin hostilities". Russian troops moved in and occupied an area that was previously in Georgia. That is an invasion.
+2
Level 65
Sep 25, 2024
South Ossetia emerged during the Georgian Civil War. Russian troops were stationed there as peacekeeping troops, and at the time of the outbreak of the war, Russia did not send troops, but already had troops in South Ossetia, and Georgia attacked them first.

That said, I don't like the Gitmo question, as that nickname is specific to Americans. I recognise it from American TV shows, but I don't know that anyone else in the world calls it that. It's (currently) the least-guessed answer for that reason.

We here at JetPunk value our visitors and we regret that our quizzes have led to you discovering the uncomfortable truth of your own country's insignificance to recent world events. We know that you have a choice in quiz websites, and will work hard to cater to your biases and prejudices in the future so as to better protect your fragile ego.

100% of dg's responses to me have him projecting his own faults and behaviors on everyone else. I'd say "what else is new" but this behavior has in fact gotten noticeably worse since he came back. Honestly hope you find whatever help it is you need, friend.

When someone refers to John AND Paul, I automatically first think of the Beatles. :) Connecting them to the pope... Well, John did make a contoversial religious comment back in the day. That said, the Beatles' and John Paul's times in the public eye never actually overlapped.

Steve Irwin wasn't attacked by a sting ray. It’s defense mechanism (barbed stinger on its tail) stabbed him when he jumped on it. ’
