'Epoch' is used much less frequently in history than 'era' (e.g., the "Era of Good Feelings" in U.S. history).

'Epoch' is more commonly used in geological or paleontological contexts; you might consider specifying the latter rather than just 'history'.

Yeah you should probably specify that it's a word commonly used by Karl Marx since 'era' is much more widespread in history than 'epoch'.

I do not know how I got Owens. I knew it started with an o and ended with s and somehow the first name that came to my mind was Owens. So I guess I did hear of him before, even if I can't remember that I ever did ^^
