I looked at the photo and thought, "What new fashion thing that I'm unaware of do people wear on their middle fingers?" Hard to believe I missed it, but I did.
That wouldn't help me, it would have to be "7 is to slash as 1 is to plus". The ampersand is on 6 and the exclamation mark is way over on the right with some weird umlaut thing.
True, but herbicides don't just kill weeds, herbicides refer to anything that kills any plants. Some herbicides are designed to just clear out anything and everything.
(this said as I also tried "weed" before trying "plant")
Regicide though is a term that can be applied anytime someone kills a king. Herbicide is a term that can be applied for products designed to kill plants.
I could not spell paediatrics, and could not bring to the front of my brain the film with Keanu in- annoying because I did know it. Ah well never mind still did ok. :-)
I did not remember the Jamie Foxx one, so I looked him up after I saw the answer and was absolutely flabbergasted to find that his name is actually Eric Marlon Bishop
I feel like "Sherlock" should be accepted for the Conan Doyle clue. I get that it's asking for last names, but I think both "Poirot" and "Sherlock" are the more common mononyms for the characters.
FYI - that keyboard question only works on QWERTY keyboards, which not all of the world uses.
On my French AZERTY keyboard, ampersand is on 1, and the 7 has "è" - so, even if I did eventually understand the clue, I had no way of solving the riddle, other than looking it up.
The German QUERTZ keyboard does have the exclamation point on 1, but the ampersand is on 6 and the backslash on 7.
I'm sure many other countries will have their own versions of the standard keyboard.
Maybe the question could be swapped for something more universally solvable?
The Spanish word sí can also be translated to the French si, depending on the context (si exists in French and means "yes"), so I think it should also be accepted. « Tu ne voudrais pas une bière ? » « Si, j'en ai envie ».
Pediatrician shouldn't be the case because a pediatrician is a medical professional trained in treating youths, while a gerontologist is a scientist who studies longevity. The answer for this would have to be someone who studies youth, which a pediatrician is not.

So; Regicide is NOT to King like Herbicide is to Plant.
2. One who kills a king.
Shouldn't this read something more like "Alex is to Bill as Keanu is to Ted"?
The relationship between Alex and Keanu is not the same as that of Bill and Ted.
Although I can see how you got there..
I think I would have gotten it if the question had been "starboard to portside is as bow is to _____" or some variation of that.
Is it really? Cartoons aren't necessarily animated are they?
