One has to wonder how lions became the "king of the jungle." African lions live almost exclusively on the savanna/grasslands. Even though they have lost about 80% of their historic range, if one were encounter a lion in the jungle, the lion would be lost. The Asiatic lions of the Gir Forest in Western India are not a substantial population and rarely visit the most heavily treed areas. Mountain lions are a different genus and species.
Tigers can totally beat up lions. I saw them fight once on one of those late-night nature channels, and the tiger like popped the lion's head off. It was a only a Claymation re-enactment, but it seemed like it was based on science, so I was convinced.
Not exactly. Everything I'm seeing online says they belong to their own family, Hyaenidae. They are on the Feliformia branch of the order Carnivora, which makes them cat-like, not feline. The Feliformia branch includes the other families of Felidae (cats), Viverridae (civets) and Herpestidae (mongooses). Carnivora also includes the dog-like Caniformia branch, which includes dogs, weasels, raccoons, bears, and seals. Saying hyenas are feline would be like saying seals are canine. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyena
I was speaking to a friend of mine the other day who is otherwise an intelligent, well-traveled, well-read adult and she revealed to me that she was of the view that narwhals were fictional. It took some convincing before she'd believe me they were in fact genuine animals and even then she had a look about her suggesting she was still a little suspicious that I was soon going to burst out laughing about gullible she was.
OMG Why am I so dumb... I read the letter A like 5 times and each time for some reason I thought "Bible" instead of Dictionary so I didn't get it... I would've gotten it if I thought dictionary I am so dumb ;( smh
I could have sworn the first clue said "Flying animal in the dictionary." I missed Aardvark because of that. And I don't remember ever hearing of a Quail.
lol
Come on!
