@samiamco It was always fish fillets, T firmly in place, in the U.S. until MacDonald's put on airs with their new fish sandwich in the '70s. You've maybe witnessed this again with people starting to pronounce frappe as frappay, a la Macca's. Another example along those lines is pronouncing forte as fortay.
only got 8 correct. cuttlefish was like on the tip of my tongue but it just didn't pop up. its weird because i did better on this quiz than the other "Answer Contains ^" quizzes. finally, i agree with rachel24601. sea star doesn not have the word fish in it!!!!
I'm kind of surprised the babel fish is so low - even those unfamiliar with Hitchhiker's should know the common online translators are called babel fish.
The fish and chips question is badly worded- you don't have fish and chips served with fries, you either have fish served with fries or fish and chips. Chips=fries. Wasn't sure for a (potentially) vital moment what was expected- if the answer was battered fish or something it would be more logical.
I have no idea what the clue about about getting whacked means, but if I were driving down the highway and a car whacked into me and it was raining then I might fishtail....
Same I first thought of beeing slapped. But I got it, but by thinking of fishses and only after getting the answer I saw ow yea I guess whacked sometimes is used for killing apparently.
Maybe "iced" or "offed" works better? Or just work the word mobster/maffia in there.
The term "whacked" doesn't show up in The Godfather and didn't become common parlance until Goodfellas 18 years later. However, the phrase "sleep with the fishes" IS in The Godfather.
Peter Maas' book The Valachi Papers was the first serious literature on the history of the Mafia in the US and the term "hit" is always and invariably used as a euphemism for murder. "Whack" simply wasn't part of the nomenclature. That came later.
Tuna is a fish but it is often incorrectly called a TUNAFISH. You don't call it a catfishfish, clownfishfish, dolphinfishfish, cuttlefishfish, cowbovine, tigercat, falconbird, or a wolfdog.
Ahem for ladder I tried elevator first (who knows, there are several things to help animals cross places). But then I thought, well they use FISHPOWER, obviously ! :D and for the hiitchhiker, I remembered something about a fish and think it went in your ear, so tried earfish and brain.
I have for some reason only ever heard of liver oil tablets and not just oil tablets so didnt think to try it on its own, could that can be accepted? As they are indeed also rich in omega 3

Disappointed "Pulp Fishin'" wasn't accepted ;-)
