But both are miles ahead of A Tale of Two Cities, which is incredibly painful for the more literary of us. And The Two Towers was released years before World War II.

Probably due to the large percentage of people from the US on this site. Among Americans, the history buffs may know the 1939 date; however, most are more familiar with the attack that dragged the US into the war - December 7, 1941. Of course, there are also many for whom "history" means the early hits of Taylor Swift.

It took me a while to remember “A Tale of Two Cities “. I was going through a bunch of Dickens novels in my head and I totally blocked on that one.

I skipped by it a couple of times until I realized what it was. So obvious!

It's is two pairs in English. Five million is the name of the number not a plural. But you can say millions of pounds which indicates more than one.
