'Third World' doesn't mean LEDCs. It's a popular myth but it's one I'm not sure we should really proliferate, given that most people consider it to be some kind of ranking.
Third world is actually countries that supported neither the US or USSR it just happens to be a lot of African countries, Sweden and Finland were neutral in the cold war so they are classified as third world. It just happens to be that the poor african countries are third world.

I wouldn't say it's "arguably" the most famous. The Guinness Book of World Records is the best-selling copyrighted book of all time. Besides, the clue doesn't say anything about them being the only tracker of world records; it just says that world records are what Guinness tracks, which is an objective statement of fact.
As the Western Hemisphere comprises countries to the west of the Prime Meridian, I think more than just the "new world" is involved e.g. Ireland, Iceland, Portugal .....
