You're leaving out Big Lebowski himself under the cast. David Huddleston was in the classic western Bad Company with Jeff Bridges way back when he was a little urban achiever. Great, polished, calm villian with an excellent young cast. Many were in movies for decades afterward and Jeff's costar, a true thespian, ended his own life early. ....And the movie is considered the source name for the song, band and album Bad Company.
Plus, David Huddleston was in another great and influential Western at the same time, delivering many great lines. He was leader of the posse bluffed by sheriff Cleavon Little being held at gunpoint in Blazing Saddles.
Got here by random but just want to say Big Lebowski is a seriously overrated movie , its good but it does not deserve the huge hype and cult status it seems to get . I've seen it a few times it has some great acting and some cool funny scenes but its no more than a good movie .
I don't think I ever made the connection before, though it seems obvious now, but is this movie originally to blame for QM's catastrophic misunderstanding of what a nihilist is?
I know this comment box states vulgar language is forbidden, but any chance the precise quote about which band he hates could work as an acceptable spelling of the answer?
surely 'dude' shouldn't be accepted as a type-in for jeff bridges when asking for the actor who played the dude? especially since one of the previous answers is 'duder', so if you go through in order you always get jeff bridges for free
Nussing.
