So only the people from Ohio have heard of the three largest cities in that state? All of which are large enough to have professional sports franchises?

yes, 80% of people who took this quiz are from Ohio.

lol you don't have to take it that seriously, of course being from that state and growing up there would allow them to have a greater innate knowledge of the area than someone who wasn't from there.

It's pretty sad how many people missed Colorado Springs. It has the state's name directly in its own name. It is home to the one and only United States Air Force Academy.

I got Colorado Springs! And I'm from New Zealand.

It is also the second biggest metro area in Colorado behind Denver and the second biggest city proper in Colorado behind Aurora, among the 50 biggest cities in the USA. But mostly because it has the Air Force Academy it's a travesty so many people didn't get it. As well as it being home to the US Olympic Training Center as well. So many reasons to know of this city...

Why should people (even if we just say Americans) who aren't in the military and don't have military family or ambitions know where the Air Force Academy is?
+1
Level 67

Because such towns have a large population of military personnel, so you know they are based nearby. I lived near the Kitsap Naval Base up in WA for years and it's basically a town for the military haha. We also love to know all the military branches are generally where all their academies are.

As a non American, I quite like these quizzes. I do horribly badly at them, but it's interesting to see how many American cities I can get.

You probably got more than I did lol. I'm an American but I'm terrible with American geography. I'm great with the rest of the world but not my own country :P

Yeah, not sure about that! Eleven this time. Some of the clues are of limited help to me. I suspect if you are American you may be more likely to get them from general background knowledge that a non American wouldn't necessarily know.

Still an interesting set of quizzes.

Officially, US municipalities are classified as cities, towns, townships, boroughs, etc. based on what is written in their charter from the state, not their population. Based on the caveat on this quiz, I am guessing that these are all incorporated cities, despite some looking more like towns given their size and lack of urban fabric.

I also live in Cary and we technically consider ourselves a town. It's officially called The Town of Cary.
