The 60 degree north parallel cuts through St Petersburg (pop 4.9 million) - but how could one work out if more than 1.2 million of them live north of it?

It would be fun to have a version of this with a map showing the lines of latitude but nothing else labeled.

Love this quiz! Tried Ushuaia for that last one, and only remembered Punta Arenas as time expired. That and Comodoro Rivadavia were the only ones I missed.

How come the population of Guangzhou is larger than Tokyo's population? Tokyo is the largest city in the world not Guangzhou

Sometimes, a bunch of surrounding cities in the Pearl River Delta are included as part of Guangzhou's population (Shenzhen, Foshan, Zhongshan, Dongguan and others), even though they're really separate cities.

Rcshelton23, true for 2014. In February 2015, Guangzhou surpassed Tokyo.

Spending time in Patagonia paid off. Probably would have been with the 99% and missed Comodoro otherwise. Well it paid off in more ways that getting me an extra answer on a quiz - it's one of the most stunning places on Earth - but it paid off in that way this time.

Very interesting on Comodoro Rivadavia and Punta Arenas. I was thinking that maybe those two zones of latitude would have been one of the biggest cities in Oceania, such as Suva or Honiara.
