Had no idea almonds were grown so much in California! I was so confused, thinking there was some really obvious grain/fruit that started with "a" that I was completely missing. After guessing apples, apricots, avocados, and amaranth, I just sat staring blankly at my screen for a good while.
Oh my God! When this quiz was featured, I was almost completely done making the same exact quiz, with 12 identical answers! Also, this same exact thing happened to me on my Historical Figures A-Z quiz, where Quizmaster featured a quiz with almost all identical answers. Something seems fishy...
Only one I missed was Compton. I was going to whine that it was a pretty obscure answer, but since 72% got it correct it appears the problem is with me. Probably because I never heard of N.W.A. and I've barely heard of Dr. Dre.
Almonds are unfairly blamed for water usage. Yes, they use a lot of water, but they also generate a lot of value. Other crops use water much, much less productively.
i don't know how often i'm gonna make this mistake again, but it wasn't untill 'x' that i noticed it was an a-z quiz. on the other hand, i still didn't know the answers i didn't get before after i found out, sooo
There is more to "flagship" than prestige. It's generally the university that receives the most money and support from the state. Berkeley is the flagship for California.
