Maybe I underestimate exactly how popular Civ is, but I think it’s amazing how you can find a quiz on just about any topic on Jetpunk!

Haven't played this in many years, but did OK; missed a few obvious ones in hindsight. Really good quiz!

Should get most of these even if you've never played the game. Missed Cleopatra and Caesar though.

I don't usually question other people's scores, but are you actually saying that you didn't know Cleopatra was Egyptian and Caesar was Roman?

Level 20

We have no idea where they got the ideas for the leaders of Civ VI

Also the versions are all wrong, Shaka was in Civ 5, Lincoln wasn't in 5 or 6, Saladin wasn't in 5 or 6, Pedro was in 5, Dido was in 5, Gilgamesh was in 3.... fix the versions haha they're really messed up

Level 67

Yeah, there are a large number of incorrect version numbers here.

No, there aren't. Read the caveats.
+1
Level 36
Apr 6, 2017
I think it's just a little confusingly worded, as far as I can tell, the number refers to the games that Civ is in, regardless of whether or not the named leader is the leader in all of those games.

That's also wrong. Carthage and the Celts were both in Civ V.

Level 69

There are many incorrect facts.

Also I'm not sure but I thought Poland and Korea were also official civilisations yet are not included.

Level 81

Lincoln was not the leader in 5 or 6 but the American civilization was in both. The versions refer to which versions the civ appeared in, not the leader. The leader is a hint.

Poland and Korea were both from add-on content, DLCs and such, and there's a caveat saying those are not included. There are a ton of other civs that were in the DLC... Polynesia, Austria, the Huns, Ethiopia, the Portuguese, the Dutch, the Turks, Indonesia.. I think I remember the Cherokee, Mexico, Canada, Australia, but it starts to get hard separating out the official DLC from some user-created content...

I loved Alpha Centauri because it was so easy to make your own factions in that game. I created so many.

Even then, a lot of them are wrong, like Carthage (Dido), Zulu (Shaka), Spain (Isabella), Mongolia (Genghis Khan), Celts (Boudica) and Brazil (Pedro II) all appear in Civ 5.

That's all from DLC. They were not in the original game.

though.... it's a little weird not to include it. I mean. When Civ V came out it was released on Steam and you had to download it. The entire game is DLC. And it felt like it was released a bit unfinished, probably because it was, because they knew that they were just going to keep putting out patches for it in the form of DLC. A lot of the stuff released later you didn't even have to buy, or it was just a little patch you could get for a few bucks, not really a proper expansion. And if you bought the game at a later date more than likely you got it in some kind of bundle that included most of the DLC with it.

As someone who plays an ancient copy of Civ II almost every day may I point out that the Zulu (under Shaka) are also present in it? Needless to say I got all the 2's.

Isn't "Kongolese" spelled with a "C", or is that just the nationality of someone from either Congo countries, be it democratic or not?

"Congo" is derived from the Kingdom of the Kongo, which used to exist in roughly the areas of the modern Congos and Angola.

there's quite a lot of inaccuracies here. for example, the inca are in 5 and 6, as are the zulus, mansa musa is in 6, suleiman is in 6, dido is in 5 and 6, boudicca is in 5, persia is in 6, pedro is in 5, and there are most likely more that i'm missing (given that i've only played 5, 6, and a little bit of 4)

I believe in 6, Spain's leader is Phillip II, and Alexender is the leader of Macedon, not Greece (although it was considered he was both in history, it was Macedon in the game)

Good quiz, pretty weird decision to not include the DLC though. That's like half the Civs in these games!
