Anytime I hear an accomplished bagpipe player, I think of their poor parents who had to endure the early days of the learning process, and wonder how they survived it.
To be pedantic (obviously) a mandate is what a candidate/party recieves as the result of a victory from an overwhelming majority vote, it does not refer to the vote itself.
I got a few other words that can be included: baseball, basketball, football, policeman, policewoman, nightlife, motorcycle, airport, seaport, airline, airplane, runway, freeway, filmmaker, bodysuit, dressmaker, drinkable, masterpiece, bartender, timekeeper, Brownsville, barkeep, "catdog" (from the late 90s show), fastbreak, breakfast and etc...
Could "landowner" be accepted for the "person who leases property to others" ? Not a native english speaker here, so there might be a nuance between the two terms
Who would have guessed that bagpipes are considered to be a musical instrument.
As with many other commenters I have never heard of a 'nightstick'. It doesn't sound very nice!
