They’re not the same. Think Forrest Gump…the filmscore is by Alan Silvestri but the Soundtrack is all the pop tunes in the film like “Watchtower” and “Running on Empty”.
That's not what people mean though. They mean ordinary roads. Signalled crossings at intersections are actually very dangerous for pedestrians. Using judgement and crossing when clear is far safer than relying on little green men to tell you when to cross.
I guessed the answer but I didn't know about iceboxes. I knew ice houses existed but thought larders were the only thing people used in houses before refrigeration. Interesting!
Please accept lifesaver for lifeguard. They are called lifesavers here in Australia, and I believe the term originated in the UK. The clue for sidekick is odd. I would never have associated the word with superheroes. A sidekick is someone who hangs around with a main or dominant character or person.
One I actually knew the answers to. I did get confused by the card game question and kept thinking Pontoon, as I thought Black Jack was an entirely different game, got there in the end though.
Waterbird is not a 'family' and ducks, geese and swans are, taxonomically, in different families. There are all, however 'wildfowl', whch the word most often used. That being said I tried waterbird too, as I have never heard 'waterfowl'!
I completely forgot the meaning of the word secret, and kept trying to think of an alternative to "backdoor" when it didn't work. And then seconds before the end I realized that secret didn't have to be a negative word and typed in "password" just in time.
Wildfowl for the bird one as that is the commonest word used for the group listed. Waterfowl is not a portmanteau word I've seen used amongst birder so it didn't occur to me. A case of of too much knowledge?
Agreed, I came to say the same thing. Wildfowl should be accepted, was very confused when it wasn't. I'm not a birder but I am an ecologist and wildfowl would be the term I would use in technical reports where it came up. I got waterfowl but only by spamming guesses.
Got them all :) Had the most difficulties with soundtrack. (Had to dig a bit for pitchfork too, not that I found that one difficult, but sometimes your mind just says "access denied" and does not give you the word you requested, just a deafening silence, perhaps the faint sound of tumbleweed)
...or candy.
And before anyone pipes up saying that it's two words, the wikipedia article starts: "An ice house, or icehouse, is a building used ..."
"game birds, especially aquatic ones; waterfowl." Not that I know a lot of swan hunters, you understand.
Yes, it's a very minor nit.
