I can see why most of these are nerd acronyms, but I don't think LED fits into that category. I think thats a term very many people know by now as those are used pretty often by now.
Lots of people have used the term, but don't know what it stands for. I was surprised recently talking with someone that he didn't know what it meant. That said, it's good to have an easy one to start the quiz.
also doesn't have a lot to do with computers. Sure it's an electronic component, but it's not like they are only used in computers and a computer can work just fine without LEDs. transistors on the other hand are pretty important to building a computer.
Very disappointed that RTFM is not here. Roy in the IT Crowd even wears a shirt with RTFM printed on the front. I could write what it stands for, for those of you that don't know, but I might be called before the Committee.
In the '90's and early 2000's there used to be a thing called a PCMCIA card, which was an interface for peripherals on early laptops. It was developed by the Personal Computer Memory Card International Association. Since there are so many computer acronyms to learn, someone came up with an alternative acronym for PCMCIA -- People Can't Memorize Computer Industry Acronyms.
Idk, this requires one to know what exactly that letter means, wherein the original, if you got one of them correct it may jog your memory, and help you continue. It also meant you had to know the whole acronym
Though, I would suggest that you should get mod team, one that goes around and fixes small issues with quizzes. Sorry, this is unrelated, but I know you will be looking here.
My inputs for some of them were not recognized, even though they were very much correct. LED for example wouldnt register "light emitting diode" or "light-emitting diode"
Maybe its a case thing but that kinda threw me off, same for GUI
PICNIC: Problem In Chair, Not In Computer
Can't remember what ELM stands for though
Great Quiz!
