I was rather surprised how high the percentage was for Andorra - don't mind my opinion but I always thought that Andorra was a not very well known country. For 84% of people to get it shocks me.
If you're a frequent flyer on Jet Punk and do lots of geography quizzes you're likely to know about countries some people have never even heard of. You're right though its not very well known by most people.
Simple proportions. If I know, say, 300 people from family relations and work/school, and I know that at least 80% of them have never even heard of Andorra, not to mention I would probably be the only one, I can rationally assume one of two things: 1) That the company I am acquanted to is incredibly ignorant, or 2) That the majority of people also have no geographical knowledge of Andorra. Being able to logically dismiss the first option after a few minutes of conversation, I think it is rational to assume most people have never heard of Andorra. While this analysis may be incorrect, it is extremely improbable.
Also, did you see the "US sent money to Andorra thinking it was an African country" video? I don't know if it's real or not, but this kinda proves the point.
"The Quizmaster has finally caved! As of yesterday, all featured quizzes will use the name Myanmar instead of Burma." Though, when I read the first sentence, I thought he (metaphorically) dug into a cave.
Oh no! The Quizmaster's determined defence of Burma, as opposed to Myanmar, across many comment sections has been a continuing pleasure. I shall miss it. I hope Burma will still be permitted as an acceptable substitute.
Good quizz, but for Spain, you should mention France as well as Portugal, and Senegal has frontiers with Mali, Mauritania, Guinea and Guinea Bissau, not just Gambia. Or the question should be about Gambia and Senegal the answer.
Did you know Ohio is the only US state with at least one city/town that starts with each letter of the alphabet? See how many you can name! http://www.jetpunk.com/user-quizzes/103225/ohio-cities-a-z
he only posted it once though.. and it is not like he makes money from it. The more quizes on jetpunk the better right? We cant let quizmaster do all the work. He mght get a breakdown. Besides making quizzes he has to deal with the never endig "Change this ! " and cyprus is NOT in asia check your facts! comments...
Thank you Sifhraven. Finally someone who can reasonably argue on the Cyprus case. All you have to do is a simple check of the facts. A quick google search will quickly reveal that Cyprus is, in fact, in Africa.
1.53 left for me. Similar to a lot of other comments, my knowledge of countries, their capitals (esp newer ones when I learnt them as a kid 40+yr ago) has been greatly assisted by doing the jetpunk quizzes, esp the ones with maps. I now have a much better appreciation of where the countries are and who borders them. Thanks for this quiz and those that make these quizzes in general
I got 100% first go with three days left and I'm an alien who knows nothing about anything besides UFOs and being green and I don't exist and I only have a conscience so I can't type and I also don't speak a word of any language.
Im so tired of comments like this, they are are reaction on the "I beat it with xx seconds left " comments. But these are much worse.
Especially when it is after a kid says im 11 and... etc. That others burn him/her down afterwards. Théy are the ones that are childish, and I am pretty sure most of those are from adults...
So there, got that of my chest, it has been brewing for weeks haha. so fed up with the childish behaviour.. who cares if someone want to post their time.
I couldn't get Denmark but I got everything else. I was surprised to see Denmark with 83% guessed, I couldn't think of any country bordering nothing but Germany. I guess I was thinking about South Germany...
I thought that would be like 2nd easiest, shared with uk. First being gambia.... guess I was wrong.. Countries that only border one seems the easiest to me..
The "The" is commonly left out. Gambia is under the Gs in the United Nations list of countries. Countries of the World quiz, seemingly the standard here, allows the use of just Gambia (same for Netherlands/The Netherlands).
I agree that gambia definitely should be accepted, but perhaps the answer shóuld show up the correct way. And indeed it never does that with the netherlands either ( but have never really bothered me, maybe because like that is closer to the dutch name itself. No the is used there. Just Nederland (but without an s, I guess the s is what makes that "the" actually really should be included. Because the original title is verenigd koninkrijk der nederlanden. (united kingdom of the netherlands)
It also depends on the native language of the country in question. For instance, when speaking Portuguese, Brazilians call their country the equivalent of "The Brazil", but they call it "Brazil" in English.
Do Uruguay really border Argentina by land? I was pretty sure that the Uruguay river separates the two and the only land crossings are bridges. If this is the case, do Singapore border Malaysia and Sweden border Denmark?
I also realize that I have never thought about this myself.
The first example is true, as Saint Martin and Sint Maarten are constitutionally integral parts of the French Republic and the Kingdom of Netherlands, respectively.
But the second isn't correct. Akrotiri and Dhekelia is a BOT, and athough BOTs are possessed by the UK, they are not part of it, legally.

Also,I totally agree to what you say, @Sifhraven

There is also no caveat about overseas territories, so this should be accepted.
