what about adding an 'empty map' that gets filled in?

How would it? The map's empty so you cant even see what countries are on there.

Having a map (even an empty one) makes it easier to identify what countries are missing...so yeah too easy for us geography nerds who don't even need a map

What about Lesotho and Swaziland ?

They are surrounded by South Africa. So they must be in the southern part?

They are on the Southern Hemisphere, but they're not big enough to be on this quiz.

30 000 km² and 17 000 km² respectively, they are really too small :)

If there was a quiz for the countries in the southern hemisphere taking up the least area then Swaziland and Lesotho would be there lol

It seems that the geography quizzes generate such a high % of correct responses that they might be solved "in advance" (with maps or whatever) by a significant number of respondents. The results just aren't consistent with quizzes on other topics where this is not possible. Perhaps the geography quiz titles and headings could be less specific until the "Start Quiz" is activated.

There are a lot of geography nerds on here and once you mastered the Countries of the World quiz and are actually able to place a fair amount of them on that map quizzes like this one are rather easy. Even without trying to solve it in advance.

yea, for things like size, name and location, it would matter much to most if they knew what quiz it was in advance or not. Other things like nr of inhabitants are less predictable or life expectancy etc. You dont learn those by knowing all the countries.

My point is, if you have studied the map ( not meaning in advance of a quiz, just, that you know the countries of the globe you live on) There are quite a few geography quizzes that become rather easy. And the of these you take the easier it gets.

Like some people might still be unsure about the _stans locations, but noone on here would mix up brazil with chile for instance.

What about Uruguay? If Brazil and Paraguay are included, so should be Uruguay.

And idrill is right: in the instructions it doesn't say anything about "biggest coutries". So, Swaziland and Lesotho should also be in the quizz.

Really I dont see how you think lesotho and swaziland (eswatini) should be on this quiz. And if they should, why arent you making a case for samoa, vanuatu, tuvalu, nauru etc... they are all in the southern hemisphere aswell.

(It allmost seems you took an atlas an looked at the countries in the southern hemisphere and thought all should be on this quiz, but overlooked the islands or something..)

Really, how does eswatini has more land in the southern hemisphere than new zealand... it is like 1/20th of its size..

Hey, Quizmaster. This quiz could be completely updated for accuracy with this area tool. For example, I used this to calculate Brazil's Southern Hemisphere area as 7,887,350. This is almost 300,000km off of your estimate! It's a simple tool and correcting it wouldn't be too much of a pain :)

It might be fun to see what percentage of the land of each country is in the Southern Hemisphere. I added them in this parody with yellow box if you want to copy them here too.

Also, Madagascar seems to be using Exact type-ins instead of the Auto, which is excluding Madegascar, Madigascar, and Madogascar.
