I thought it was either "Edward" or "George" but I couldn't remember which, so I tried both. I couldn't remember the number either, so I just held down "I" for a couple seconds, and when that didn't work, I went back and entered a "V" before the Is.

To say 'Nobody Remembers' anything is a little pompous on your part, just because you don't remember you can't presume everyone is like you.

They're saying that based off of the statistics, you know the ones given on almost every quiz. I personally only got Nanjing because I remembered it was the capital then.

agree with atom bomb, or hydrogen bomb, or H bomb, all of which I tried.
+2
Level 79
Dec 13, 2015
An atomic bomb works by fission -- ripping apart an atom. A hydrogen bomb works by fusion, and requires the energy of an atomic bomb to provide the power for fusing hydrogen atoms together to form helium and a great whack of energy. It was atomic bombs (fission) that were used against Japan.

I would argue that the end of the Battle of Stalingrad or the Battle of Kursk was more important than Mussolini's capture/rescue but more scholars than I can list with this character limit have already done that for me.

The entire world, except Americans, knows the World Cup is the World Cup. As in, the entire world plays in it. Unlike the World Series...

British spelling was accepted for me, despite not being the correct name of the place. Note that harbour is spelt with two Rs also in UK ...
+2
Level 59
Apr 13, 2020
(I'm British) I spell it Pearl Harbor because it's a proper noun, and that's how it is spelt. Other names of people and places do not have their spellings changed when switching from British to American spellings (or vice versa), so why should Pearl Harbor?

In all seriousness, probably not. There's certainly not too many.
+1
Level 58

A lot of the worlds major news was related to the Us because it was at it's peak in this time period from all the money it got from supplying the Allies at the beginning of WWII.
+2
Level 78
Apr 14, 2020
@wiifly I agree, althought the "Dust Bowl" question is the one I think that could be changed because it's something that didn't really have much impact outside the affected zone. More interesting things happened elsewhere in that year that could add more geographical diversity tot the test, such as the inauguration of the Moscow metro or the passing of the Nuremberg laws.
