I thought it was either "Edward" or "George" but I couldn't remember which, so I tried both. I couldn't remember the number either, so I just held down "I" for a couple seconds, and when that didn't work, I went back and entered a "V" before the Is.
They're saying that based off of the statistics, you know the ones given on almost every quiz. I personally only got Nanjing because I remembered it was the capital then.
I would argue that the end of the Battle of Stalingrad or the Battle of Kursk was more important than Mussolini's capture/rescue but more scholars than I can list with this character limit have already done that for me.
A lot of the worlds major news was related to the Us because it was at it's peak in this time period from all the money it got from supplying the Allies at the beginning of WWII.
@wiifly I agree, althought the "Dust Bowl" question is the one I think that could be changed because it's something that didn't really have much impact outside the affected zone. More interesting things happened elsewhere in that year that could add more geographical diversity tot the test, such as the inauguration of the Moscow metro or the passing of the Nuremberg laws.
Again, missed Uruguay (not a sports fan). It's amazing how well I do on quizzes concerning decades long before I was born, not as well on those which are contemporary.
Also, no need to put the Soviet Union in brackets. They devastated Poland just as much.
