I tried Australian Cattle and figured they wouldn't require dog so I missed this one!

in my language it is australian shepherd, just like german shepherd.. try so many spellings of shepherd... so indeed finally also tried australian collie..

Australian Sheepdog is a completely different breed to Australian Cattle Dog - in fact the Australian Shepherd is really a US breed and has precious little to do with Australia... If you want a sheep dog in Australia you'd have a Kelpie - which also isn't the same as an Australian Cattle Dog. In fact if you let a Cattle Dog anywhere near sheep Down Under chances are you'd just end up with a lot of dead sheep.

Missed five. Was never good at identifying types of dogs, trees, flowers...

I tried everything for the Australian Cattle Dog - Australian Wolf Hound/Australian Sheep Dog - so close...

And one year later, I tried almost the exact same things and STILL couldn't get it.

I could not think of the shina Inu to save my life, even though I got all the rest. If I hadn’t tried Doge on a lark my perfect score would be out the window. So awesome.

I kept thinking, "That's that cattle dog from Australia." Sheesh!
+1
Level 47
May 16, 2017
So far so good; no one asking for lenient spelling for dachshunds.
+6
Level 75
May 16, 2017
That's because everyone is using sausage or weiner! Which are acceptable type-ins.
+1
Level 35
May 16, 2017
I would prefer Just to spell Dachshunds. Not that I have two or anything...
+2
Level 72
Dec 14, 2018
not teckel unfortunately (did get daschhund after a long think, easier for me than weener, wouldnt know if it was weener wiener weiner weenie weinie wienie wieny etc and dog hund or hound...)

Arghh! The inconsistencies of what's accepted as allowable answers! Collie is accepted (even though it's a rough collie) but spaniel is not accepted, it has to be exact type of spaniel.
+2
Level 89
May 16, 2017
It's not inconsistent at all. Collie is the breed, rough indicates a variation of that breed, the other being Smooth Collie, where as cocker spaniel is a breed unto itself. Spaniel is like saying hound should take care of bloodhound and basset hound. There are 3 variations of cocker recognized by the AKC (parti, ASCOB, and black), while there are 12 breeds with the name spaniel in them.
+3
Level 70
Sep 13, 2017
Lots of dogs are 'Collie' dogs, Border Collie, farm collie, bearded collie etc etc. I think Spaniel should be given also.

32% for Shiba Inu. Such disappoint. Many sad.

Level 36
May 16, 2017
I thought it was an Akita. Sorry. I never knew anyone who had a Shiba Inu.

Level 50

+7
Level 94
Dec 6, 2017
inu is just japanese for dog, it should accept shiba.
+3
Level 82
Nov 4, 2021
And 'hund' is German for 'dog', but 'dachs' wouldn't be right on and an English language quiz.
+2
Level 43
Nov 4, 2021
No "dachs" wouldn't be right, but Shiba inus are regularly referred to as just a "shiba" in the English language, whereas Dachshund doesn't get called just "dachs"

Shouldn't Queensland Heeler be acceptable for Australian Cattle Dog?
+4
Level 65
Nov 23, 2017
If you are going to call it an "Australian Cattle Dog" instead of a Blue Heeler, you may as well call the Husky a "North American Icebound Dog"
+3
Level 70
Nov 23, 2017
Called a 'Blue Heeler' here in Australia.
+1
Level 72
Dec 14, 2018
yea when australian shepherd didnt work, I tried stuff with blue, cause that info was somewhere in my mind. Also the heeler bit. but thought that was more a nicname, or generalisation for dogs than tend to nip at the heels (for herding purposes)
+1
Level 56
Oct 11, 2018
Huskies are Siberian, not North American. Malamutes are North American.
+1
Level 72
Dec 14, 2018
though your comment is flawed imo. Blue heeler is as much descriptive as australian cattle dog.

I think people have a general lack of knowledge of Australian Cattle Dogs. When I first got mine, people had no idea what breed he was. In fact, neither did I until we got him. Best dog I've ever had, though.
