I would say that Ethiopia was successfully colonized by Italy, but then we'd get to the complicated part of international politics known as recognition. So I'll just stick with saying "Good quiz!"
For those of us who don't know as much about these things, how is it different enough from Germany occupying/invading France to deserve a different title? What, in your mind, draws the line between those two?
haha I typed in "bethelem" instead of "nazareth". I guess I really need to study my Christian history, but in my defense "bethelem" has eight letters as well.
ABC's Wide World of Sports is becoming such a distant memory that Acapulco cliff diving is the least guessed answer. So much better of a show than to spend 4 hours watching a 60-minute football game with 60 seconds of highlights.
Wikipedia: "Aleppo was the largest Syrian city before the Syrian Civil War; however, now Aleppo is probably the second-largest city in Syria after the capital Damascus."
Considering population, Edmonton is more populous than Vancouver. Edmonton has almost a million people, a million in some stats considering metro area. I would definitely classify it a major city.
"Major City" is somewhat vague. At what population does something become a major city? with how sparse Canada's population is, I'd consider Grande Prairie (north of Edmonton) to be a pretty large city.
According to Wikipedia, Edmonton has a city population of 1,010,899 and a metropolitan population of 1,418,118. I'd say 1M population makes it a major city, certainly more than Grande Prairie with a population of 64,141.
I think you should add you're asking for an US State on the horses and bluegrass question, cause I think most of us, including me, thouhgt you were asking for a country
