I have heard of a basement apartment within your own home as "in-laws quarters." Is this meaning referring to a basement apartment in an apartment building?
tried putting "bachelor apartment" or "bachelor suite" as basement apartments are often called "bachelor apartments" here. finally guessed "in-law suite" and it took it.
I kept reading it as "1984 protagonist" and wondering how Winston Smith contained a family member. Also - disappointed not to see the Chuckle Brothers on here. I suppose they might be a bit obscure for a primarily US audience.
You've made an excellent point. The translators of the bible were misogynists. We have no way of proving that the Almighty did not consider women inferior to men, so we must form our own conclusions.
It's why though I am a firm believer in the Creator, I have zero respect
Man, I almost got it right... I typed in "wife of Lot" instead of "Lot's wife". And when that wasn't accepted I thought I must have gotten the name wrong.
Shocking how low the percentage was for Gaia :o If it was the other was around I could sort of understand it, with people maybe not being sure how to write Gaia (or atleast in common english)
Not sure about wife of lot. Those biblical dudes were such patriarchal dicks: didn't even give her a name.
It's not until Ruth that any story about a woman doing something at her own instigation is told in a positive light.
But I guess keeping chicks in their roles as slaves is what religion is all about right?
It's why though I am a firm believer in the Creator, I have zero respect
for religion as a whole.
