One time, Frank Sinatra came in here, and sat in this chair. I say, "Frank, you hang out with Joe Louis. Just between me and you, how old is Joe Louis?" Know what Frank told me? He said "Hey, Joe Louis is a hundred thirty-seven years old." A hundred and thirty-seven years old!

This is truly sad. I have been to Joe Louis Arena, and did not realize that it was named after a boxer.

I’ve never understood how actions that would bring criminal charges can be transformed into a sporting spectacle by the addition of bloodthirsty paying punters.

I suppose it’s a bit like how prostitution (illegal) becomes pornography (legal) simply by pointing a camera at the action.

I’m sure there’s no moral ambiguity here…

2 boxers agree to a match (legal).

One guy punches another guy in the face without permission (illegal).

Do you actually not see an obvious difference between these two scenarios?

Not that he’s super famous, but the only 100% Canadian heavyweight champion was Tommy Burns in the 1910s, who then lost to Jack Johnson.

"100%" Canadian -- what does that even mean? Lennox Lewis grew up in Canada and won a gold medal as a Canadian. Good enough for me. And he was bright enough to use his UK citizenship to fight in Europe away from Don King et al.

As others have said, your answer to 1920s Fight of the Century needs to be updated. Demspey vs Georges Carpentier was in the first fight titled "FIght of the Century in Jul 1921. This should be an acceptable answer.

If you can somehow work Superman vs Ali into these questions, I'd appreciate it.
