He did some funny stuff, but Strange Brew is one of the flattest alleged comedies ever.

Peter Jennings clue should read 1938 not 1983.

Never mind, you meant the year he started with ABC, not the year he was born.

I think Justin Bieber and William Shatner were added to remind Canadians not to get too cocky. There are some big duds out of the True North (strong and free). Frankly, our neighbors to the North should apologize for those two, as well as Jim Carrey and Celine Dion.

;) Just my US$0.02.

Surely there's a better clue for Ryan Reynolds out there?
+4
Level 91
Jun 30, 2017
Yep. I know he's been in some really bad films, but considering he's played two superheros with one of them being the highest grossing "R" rated movie of all time. I imagine you can come up with something other than a marriage that ended 6 years ago and lasted only 3 years.

Took the quiz again. Missed that one again. I know the man's career very well but didn't bother to remember he was married to ScarJo. I was even looking at the quiz this time thinking "hm, no Ryan Reynolds?"

I agree about Christopher Plummer and Terry Fox. Missing Fox and subsequently looking up his story would be a much better thing for JetPunk'ers that getting a cheap, slam-dunk "Justin Bieber" point. Or whoever that "Call her, maybe" person was.

Plummer & Fox = Canadians of consequence

Bieber & Jepson = yeah, whatever

Ya know, for all the complaints I see about quizzes is being “too American”, here is one with nary a US-born citizen to be found, and the average scores are pretty terrible.

Ellen Page should be updated to Elliot Page and actress be changed to actor ("Ellen Page" should probably still work as type-in though)
+2
Level 91

The role Page played in Juno was of a woman, in Pages capacity at the time as an actress. Just like how Caitlyn Jenner was Bruce when they competed in men's Olympic events
+6
Level 76
Mar 12, 2023
Right, but this isn't about the role, per se. It is about the person who is Canadian. The role was just used as the hint. Elliot Page should be displayed even if Ellen Page still works as a type-in (especially since you really only need the last name).

Could we get Elliot Page's name updated?

Hmm. This seems to be extremely celebrity-driven. I guess Canadian celebrities are more likely to be known outside of Canada than many Canadians who have made more substantial accomplishments (e.g. Terry Fox, Rick Hansen, Frederick Banting, Tommy Douglas, and so on).

And there are plenty of very accomplished people on this list.

perhaps, out of respect for him, you might either change the question or the answer to reflect gender identity of eliot page (formerly ellen page)

Page was named Ellen when they starred in Juno.

Ellen should work as a type-in but the display name would be more appropriate as Elliot as that is his name

Who? Joni Mitchell is one of the greatest songwriters of all time and a pretty great singer too. I think it's much more appropriate for her to be here than a random guy no one has heard of.
