What about splitting the quiz into two parts. One part with real existing islands like "chinese gambling island" and another with fantasy islands like "Island prison in Harry Potter" ?
yea, not much point. Only thing I could think of is because you(meant generally, as in someone) cant distinguish the real ones from the fictive ones, but if that is the case you wouldnt have known the answer anyway.
I was under the impression that the island from Gilligan's Island was uncharted, so I tried "uncharted island", "unnamed island", "nameless island". It never occurred to me that the island might be called "Gilligan's Island"!
Rather amazed at how low the % of some of these answers are, while usually the jetpunk audience s rather knowledgeable. I expected most of these to be near the 80%
People havent heard of dodo's and blue curacao? and even if you havent heard of blue curacao, there are only a few islands in the caribbean that are dutch territory, so you could just go down the list. Geography is usually not really an issue for jetpunkers (unless it is about what continent cyprus lies on/belongs to...)
The problem here is not everyone is a Harry Potter or literary fiction fan. If the quiz was based purely on geographic fact l probably would not have passed on four answers...
Could you accept "Hiva Oa" for the Gauguin question? That is, after all, where the great man lived and was buried. I have a photo of his grave to prove it!
The Easter island indigenous population was/is in fact of Polynesian ethnicity, although the territory today is politically part of Chile. Therefore it is technically correct to consider its people both Polynesian and Chilean, in the same manner that today's descents of the original Hawaiians are ethnic Polynesian and American nationals.
Don't understand why the anglicised version of Macau is such a big deal here. The island had long been known by its Portuguese name, but of course both forms are (or should be) correct.
