I don't remember ever seeing Fellini as a person, and it looks like I'm not alone.

Another tough selection. It's amazing how some countries have lots of famous people and other seem to have fewer. I assume the language issue means we are more likely to 'know' English speakers.

Still none the wiser on the last two, or the fourth one.

I removed Columbus from this quiz because there are no portraits of him which were painted during his life.

As usual, the only one I didn't get - and have never heard of - is the athlete.

(Once again, here's me admitting I didn't know something, and NOT blaming the world of sports for existing.)

Guess I should spend more time staring at Italian people. Knew every name but only got 6/16.

For Raphael should be accepted both "Raffaello" and "Sanzio".

As italian, I've one more question... who is Fabio?

well some people are more famous outside their home country. "Lanzoni is best recognized for his appearance on the covers of hundreds of romance novels."

Fabio was often on the cover of 'romantic' fiction. He was a model. eg Mills and Boon :)

Why is Meloni one of the least-recognised people? She's been prime minister since 2022 and frequently in the international news, including during the last week.

I wrote Raffaello at least fifteen times before the timer run out... as an Italian,I think it should be allowed as it is its actual name

I think you should let italian version of names be valid! I’m Italian and I was confused about “Raffaello” not working, before realizing what was wrong.
