I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

Oh no, not the bees! Not the bees! Aahhh! My eyes, my eyes! Aahhh!
After reading that in 5 separate years of school, I can quote that book almost verbatim-- When I stepped out into the bright sunlight from the darkness of the movie house I had only two things on my mind: Paul Newman and a ride home.
I've added that quote. I doubt many will get it only because the movie is pretty old at this point. But a very memorable quote for those who have seen the movie.
Well, yeah, it's kind of hard to argue that The Outsiders has aged well compared to the others on this list (I don't think it has). I was just trying to get clarification from the way QM worded his sentence.
I can quote the Star Trek line and totally recall that scene. I even do a pretty good imitation of Spock's voice... it's a very emotional scene. It brings tears to my eyes every time. To quote a line once said about Data, 'For someone incapable of emotions, he managed to evoke a lot of them in others.' I know Spock wasn't incapable of emotions per se, but it's the best fit I can think of.
Star Wars has had four really good movies out of like 12. All of the Harry Potter movies are good-to-very-good (the first two are a little kiddish, but they're about ten times better than the worst of the Star Wars movies). Both franchises have superb world-building, but the Harry Potter stories themselves and much more inventive and clever than Star Wars. I really love the original Star Wars, but it's absurd to suggest that a preference for Harry Potter is some signifier of decline.
SPOILER ALERT: Yes, he did. The fact that he was brought back to life by the Genesis Project doesn't change the fact that he died first. In fact, it requires it!
why is Romeo and Juliet stylised as the Baz Lurhman version of the film. there had been many adaptations of the film prior to this and Mercuthios last words hadn't changed in that time
I think it was on the Young Guns II soundtrack. Maybe they were actually using a clip from Cool Hand Luke on the soundtrack and I never realized it because I didn't see Cool Hand Luke until decades later.
I'm thoroughly confused and now have no idea where I got this from. I just listened through the Young Guns II soundtrack and the Jon Bon Jovi album inspired by the movie... could've sworn the line was sampled somewhere on the latter. But it wasn't there. Perhaps I constructed a false memory.
10% for Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid? I guess the fact that when it first came out I saw it at a drive-in theater explains a lot. And of course, there are the legends that persist that Cassidy survived and died in the US of old age - or gonorrhea.
The line should be "What we have here is failure to communicate."
There is no "a" in the line.
