I'd disagree. Schumacher was certainly one of the best, if not the best. Hamilton is certainly a good driver, but he also has the best car on the grid. Senna, Clark, and Schumacher are who I'd call the top three.
It's the only jersey number of any professional athlete of any sport or any era that I could tell you. It's the reason why "23" is on all Air Jordans and clothes in his fashion line.
Absolutely. How other commentators can consider any of the others on this list (excepting Michelangelo and my hero Gorbachev) to be more significant than Faraday is beyond me. All jetpunkers should hang their heads in shame because he is the least-guessed of this bunch.
Bay and Myers are pretty super famous... but maybe if you don't watch popular movies you wouldn't have heard of them. Dukakis if you weren't alive and following American politics in the late 80s I wouldn't expect you to know... Bloomberg if you're not American and weren't interested in finance, investing, or local American politics I wouldn't expect you to know, either.
It amuses and infuriates in equal measures when people moan about a couple of difficult answers; isn't that the point of these quizzes - some questions are harder than others? If everything was so easy and everyone knew all the answers, it wouldn't be much of a challenge.
How is saying they think they are not that famous moaning? You must have a tough life, everybody around you moaning. When people say things like, "ow I'm out of cereal" moaning "I couldnt find my red shirt, so I put on my yellow" moaning "I got everything from the list, but the bananas, they were out of those" moaning. You must be constantly infuriated.
The Cyrillic letter "ë" (Yo), not to by confused with the latin e-umlaut is actually "translated" often into an O as well as an E. In other words it's very likely Gorbachov is used in many languages for this person, not meant to change his name, but keeping close to the original (The Northern Germanic languages can do this using the ö, or ø for example).
When I have extra time because of an easier quiz I like to try different spellings/alternate answers for kicks. I now know that you can type in "SHOEMAKER" and get credit. Don't know if it's because of an alternate spelling or because QM Anglicized the name but that is awesome in my nerdy mind.
That's sth I will never understand. Why can't you just let his real name be his real name. Would be the same, if we call so. "Armstark", instead of "Armstrong" or "Fuchs" instead of "Fox" or .....
His name is Schumacher, NOT Shoemaker. If you want do accept SchuHmacher... fine! But please stop Anglifying names from all around the world just because they're maybe not that easy to spell or pronounce. For Germans it can also be quite hard to pronounce English (or other) names, anyway it's still "Smith", NOT "Schmitt"!.
The 23 golds question is the vaguest thing I have ever read. I'll assume Olympics, but still - what country? What sport?
(after seeing the answers) Not everyone lives in America you know, and knows who your athletes are... at least let us know that this person comes from your country.
Michael Phelps has won more Olympic medals than any other athlete in history. You haven't heard of the Olympics before? It's an international event. Phelps has medaled 28 times, including winning gold 23 times. The next closest is Larisa Latynina of the USSR who has 18 Olympic medals and 9 golds, in other words not even close. Please stop blaming your ignorance on where you live.
I am not American but I knew it straight away from that clue whereas I didn't think of Michael Jordan because the sport wasn't mentioned and I don't follow basketball. I have obviously heard of him and will hopefully remember if it ever comes up in a quiz again
The Michael Jordan clue is so weird, Americans really think of him as one of the most important and famous people ever, when he's mostly known for shoes and Space Jam outside of the USA.
He is really well known worldwide. Even I know him and I follow no American sports (see what i did there?).
I wouldn't say he's the world's most famous athlete but he must be up there.
Phelps is a phenomenon. He is a world record holder for Olympic golds. That is a quizzing fact. If you want to become more knowledgeable about stuff like this, you need to accept that the clue is more than adequate for most jet-punkers to get.
44% Michael Schumacher
Oh, god!
Michael Stipe (from REM)
Michael Caine (Alfred in the Nolanverse Batman films and many other roles)
Michael Strahan (NFL)
Michael Fassbender (Magneto in the recent X-Men films and other roles)
Michael Richards (Kramer from Seinfeld)
Michael Clarke Duncan (The Green Mile)
Just a thought.

Thanks, now I fell better...
