In the spirit of jazz, we improvise when spelling their names.

Andrew Jackson was not definitely born in North Carolina. He was born in a remote area that was near the North Carolina and South Carolina border; nobody knows exactly what state he was born in.

Yeah, well a giant equestrian statue of Jackson supervises Polk and Johnson in Raleigh, so we're claiming him.

Andrew Jackson's birth home is in WAXHAW NORTH CAROLINA. Sorry but Lancaster can suck it. Although his birthplace is about 15 minutes from the border today, we have cars which means travel time was very different.

That was almost highly embarrassing. I had to ask my husband the sax question; he plays tenor sax himself and Coltrane is his freaking nickname.

It says that both Andrew Jackson and Andrew Johnson are from Tennessee in the Famous Tennesseeans quiz…I'm probably missing something.

Added Nina Simone and Mr. Beast. I expect low percentage guessed on Nina Simone.

I guess I'm the exception. Knew Nina Simone right away. I have never heard of Mr. Beast.

Somewhere that talent and skill, dedication and hard work are valued more highly than, well, I don't even know what it is that mr.beast does, but I can guarantee it is absolute balls. I know he has made a lot of money, but that is all I know about him. His "work" will be garbage - I would bet my life on it. Nina, James Taylor and Coltrane are absolute genuine legends, but we live in a society that thinks making money is the only true measure of "success."

Mr. Beast is the most subscribed channel with 366 Million subscribers currently, I'd assume that's worthy of being in this quiz. No need to diss him if you don't even know what he does.

Should add Rhett and Link from Good Mythical Morning, especially since you included Mr. Beast. You could put them together as one clue since they are pretty much a package deal.

Only got there because I have his first album, which has a close-up photo of him looking like that, but even so, it still took me a minute.

As a non American I found that quiz blinking tough. I got two, and one was by fluke. I should have got the first basketballer, and I recognised the guy from Greensboro from his film roles.

I appreciate I’m not the target audience for these type of quizzes, and I’m not complaining. I knew I would do badly before I started. It’s just interesting to see how many of the answers seem to be people who are famous in America rather than globally or in Britain in my case. The entire second row was a case of “who?” albeit I recognise a couple of names.

Interesting quiz.

Conclusion: not a lot of famous people from North Carolina. As of now, only four are 52% or more in the stats. And one of those four is disputed (Andrew Jackson). And curiously, one of them I've never heard of (Mr Beast).
