Oh. Didn't realize that Gulliver was a last name. I thought I was just going crazy and didn't even try that. Missed that one and Leslie Knope- whomever that is. Took me a while to think of Lloyd and I think I was only able to because it's part of the title of the prequel, though I never saw that movie I could recall the title.
I'm not a big tv watcher, and I don't like most US shows, but Parks and Rec is funny - Leslie Knope is the central character. Solid cast includes Amy Pohler, Rashida Jones, Rob Lowe, Aubrey Plaza, Nick Offerman. (NB: first season is not as good as later ones.)
Could I just say that I think the Venn Diagram of "People who know Zelda and the Ninja Turtles" and "People who know Gulliver's first name" would show an almost vanishingly empty set.
I don't play video games, but know plenty of people who do, AND I am mostly aware of pop culture (yes, I'm including the TMNT in there, although I know some people will disagree), AND I am a certified English nerd who reads Shakespeare for fun. The boundaries can definitely overlap. Agree with joeythelemur below, though. It took me quite a while to remember Gulliver's first name as well, even though I knew immediately to whom the clue was referring.
Not sure why you'd say that, I'd actually expect a positive correlation between people who got the Gulliver's Travels question and people who got the TMNT and Zelda questions right. Reading is already seen as a nerdy hobby and reading fantasy is seen as being even more nerdy, plus Zelda is a fantasy game series so there's a good chance fantasy fans will have heard of both.
Yes. It's actually--how do I say it?--understandable in its madness. As in, it's followable, and not completely off-the-wall. "Completely" being the key word, of course.
It's updated now to 89% and 82%, but it is still a weird discrepancy. brandybuck96, HermioneGranger9 is pointing out that if you've seen the Star Wars movie(s), you should know both, but there's a rather large difference. (I think most men remember her form, forgetting her name. Especially in that bikini.)
(Plus Linus is like the third character isn't he?)
