With only 17% knowing it, I'd say the palindrome isn't all that famous. I've never heard of it, nor had I heard of handegg or the Dr. Seuss book. That's three things I learned this morning. My brain is already tired. ;) Fun quiz, BTW.
Um, no. A football is pointy at both ends; an egg isn't pointy on either end. A football is symmetrical, an egg is not. Anyone who thinks that a football looks like an egg hasn't seen one or the other, or perhaps either one.
A football is often described as a "pigskin," the "rock" and a number of other things but never, ever, anything as fragile as an egg. That's just stupid.
Um, no it is not intuitive. I am an American and an American football fan and never ever heard American football referred to as "handegg".
The ball does not resemble an egg. If any sport should be referred to as "handegg", it should be rugby. That ball much more resembles an egg than an American football.
It's intuitive then for let's say non-gridiron countries. A ball is supposed to be round, and the obviously "wrong" shape of the gridiron football is closest to an egg if you have to compare it to something.
No @dorkmeister and djiljas. If you need to compare it to anything it would be lemon or lime.. Which is what I tried, handlime, handlemon.. I knew it didnt sound right, but couldnt think of what other shape/item it could be.
Handegg is probably a more well known term in England (and I guess other English speaking countries outside USA) since what Americans call soccer we call football. Also a lot of people don't like American Football's name since your feet are not the main way used to transport the ball, so 'handegg' is used as a term to ridicule the sport.
I think sea snail should be accepted. it fits the clue, and if a lamb is accepted as food snail definitely should aswell, people eat snails(escargot). (personally I dont think lamb should be on here because it refers to the animal, it is not lambchop of god ..)
Change the hint for sugar daddy to be more inclusive? I've had one as a guy. It's just a man that spoils his partner, not a girl specifically (and she doesn't have to be younger)
