I've actually always seen "Paella" spelled as either Piaya, or pyaya. Maybe just me, but my Puerto Rican neighbor used to always invite us over for cookouts and it was always magnificent.

The spelling killed me on this one. D'oh!

The pomelo is actually one of the few "natural" (non-hybridized) citrus fruits, and is ancestor to several types of oranges, tangelos, and of course, all varieties of grapefruit.

And if you actually commit to get it out of the thick "skin" its truly delicious, my favourite fruit hands down!

Agreed, super delicious. I don't find it too hard to peel, but then I have spider-like fingers and a burning sense of citrus justice.

I've heard poutine described before and what it consists of . it sounded disgusting now I can see it looks disgusting too . I'll bet it tastes rotten also .All you need on good chips ( fries ) is a little salt.

Agreed. Adding gravy makes the fries soggy and the whole thing is a complete mess that you need a fork to eat.

Its a soggy mess that I can't tolerate but it has in abundance what almost all Canadians like in junk food; salt and sugar. Best devoured under the influence -- the local poutine shop here is open all night and closes for the day and is located in a district with several bars and marijuana dispensaries.

Actually, it is full of all four of the basic junk food groups: sugar, salt, starch, and grease. Making it the perfect health-free junk food.

Each to their own. (Chip shop) curry sauce is fab on chips as is loads of vinegar. I also recommend feta in place of usual cheesy chips

We have a similar thing in the UK, in most fish and chip shops you can order chips and cheese or chips and gravy as well as peas and curry sauce. Or any combination of these as you so wish. Chips and gravy is wonderful after a few pints of beer on the way home on a cold night!

Poutine sound absolutely disgusting. It sounds fat, tasteless, soggy. The kind of thing a moron comes up when he's stoned and has nothing left in the cupboard. An absolute abomination that goes against everything food should be. And yet... it's delicious! Wouldn't eat it every day, but once in while, when it's done right, it *is* delicious. There's no reason why it should be, but it is. Try it, if you haven't.

That's not pumpernickel, that's just simpel rye bread. Pumpernickel doesn't have a crust, and you can see the actual grains in the texture of the bread. This would be a much better image:

The first time I took this quiz, it inspired me to try persimmon for the first time. My daughter and I cut one in half and each tried a bite.

We agreed it was the SINGLE MOST DISGUSTING THING either one of us has ever put in our mouths. And we're pretty adventurous, so that's saying something.

I think persimmons are delicious. Not only that, before engineers ruined the game of golf, woods (as in drivers, brassies, and spoons) were made of persimmon wood. I still play the game with my beautiful old persimmon woods. My swing is ugly, my scores horrid, but I hold my head high!

One of my favorite fun facts is that Paella comes from the Valencia region in Spain, and they refer to any version of it that comes from outside of Valencia as "arroz con cosas" which translates to "rice with things"
