Did anyone else guess that ursine was bear due to there being a pokemon named Ursaring, a giant bear !

No, we got it because of Ursa Major and Minor. Things that you might see if you went outside and looked up rather than down.

Just because you look up doesn't mean you know what Ursa Major is. And just because MattMerchant1 knows about Pokemon doesn't mean he has his head in his phone all day long.

Haha the word mackerel isn't magical. Actually, all you need is any word that has M, A, E, L, and C and Ohio is the only state that doesn't have any of those letters.

Mackerel.... I write pub quizzes here in UK, have 8 or 9 sheets of questions, 20 to a sheet, questions with answers that contain no letters of Mackerel... types of fish, dogs, birds, fruit, veg, TV/film characters, songs, bands, olympic sports, towns, cities, countries, there are loads... because of the nature of the "question" i usually have one or two answers just to prove there is an answer, and ask the quizzers for their suggestions, as long as it fits the criteria, it's ok.. dont really know how to actually make a quiz on here, so if anyone wants any of these mackerel things, message me on here with your email address and i'll send you a couple of dozen at random....

and send some answers a week later...

"The city of Calexico lies on the U.S. side of the California / Mexico border. What, appropriately, is the name of its sister city on the Mexican side of the border?"

Logically, the answer should be "Mexifornia". Saying "appropriately" suggests that the naming convention on the US side is also used on the Mexico side.

Your logical answer isn't logical. Calexico. California - Cal = ifornia. Mexico - exico = M. The logical answer would be Mifornia, not Malifornia.

I figured California is a U.S. state, so the equivalent Mexican state would be Baja California. I tried dozens of combinations of "Baja" and "United States of America" before switching to "Mexico" and "California" and still not figuring it out, because "California" doesn't end in "Cali"; it ends in "fornia." Sigh.
