Bruce banner should be acceptable for the Hulk. The Hulk already IS angry, it is Bruce Banner who says you won't like him when he's angry, as it will lead to him becoming the Hulk.
who you wouldnt like when angry needs clarification aswell becasue although the hulk is obvious, a quote from the game league of legends is dont make the yeti angry, you wont like him when hes angry refferring to the yeti that nunu rides
"Who won't you like when he's angry?" definitely needs clarification. There are thousands of real and fictional persons I wouldn't like when they are angry
It is interesting how ...---... has come to mean exclusively SOS. That same sequence can also be read as 3B, V7, VGI, VZE, IAGI, EIMNI, or a handful of other combinations.
Not really. Morse code has a very specific timing, based around the length of sending a single dot. One dash is the length of three dots. Each dot or dash within a letter is separated by a space of one dot duration. Letters of a word are separated by a space of three dots' duration, and words are separated by seven dots' duration.
When typing or writing Morse code, you would have to use spaces to replicate those separations. Thus, writing ...---... (which, admittedly, the quiz above did as well, and it's wrong there too) is meaningless in Morse code, exactly because it could be parsed out any number of ways. SOS would more properly be written ... --- ..., while 3B would be ...-- -..., VGI would be ...- --. .., IAGI would be .. .- --. .., etc.
I mean, I know people won't really be confused with the clue as it is, because SOS is pretty much the only Morse the general public knows, but to be really accurate there should be more space between those Morse letters.
@MarlowePI, what you said about spacing is absolutely true for sending letters. However, the distress sequence is always sent without the spacing. This is generally helpful, so if I message my brother in Uruguay "You owe me 350 pesos," he knows it isn't really an emergency.
This no-spacing is generally noted by overscoring, so my original post should have noted that SOS can be written as V7, etc.
I wish the 'language gurus' would just allow the word cattle to be used as both singular and plural. We already have this situation for other animals; e.g., 'moose' and 'deer,' which are the standard terms for both singular and plural.
There are no "language gurus", language happens from usage. Be the change! Use "cattle" in the singular.
Malbaby is wrong above, though: a cow isn't always female. A female bovine (or some other animals) is one (or even the primary) definition, but it also refers to just any domesticated bovine, of either sex.
Took the quiz, failed miserably but was prompted to actually watch "The Hunger Games", didn't like it but vaguely remembered the hero's name, took the quiz again a couple of weeks later, typed in "Katliss Everdeen", failed, typed in "Everdeen", succeeded. Remain cueless about pudding, though...
I finally did it. After 51 quizzes I have gotten 20/20. A bunch of close calls and it took me right up to the wire with the popularity question but I did it.
Typed "Beatles" and obviously didn't get the answer and then moved on to try a whole bunch of other options without reading the question properly. Doh.
I typed "doctors" but I think it accepted "doctor", so the next question the s was at the beginning of what I typed and it changed the meaning of the word to something I did not intend :)
Agree. Also, in the Morse code question it would be more accurate to ask what it is in Latin letters, not in English. It is SOS in any language that uses Latin letters.
I generally don't like anyone when they are angry... why would I like someone negative and mean??
Ok an angry kitty could still be cute ( but I would probably feel sad for it, because it would only be angry if something was bothering it) and in sommmee cases maybe a little kid. But only when it remains at grumpy (not agressive) and not for any spoilt reason.
Like when a 2 year old tries to does something (open a door on a spring then turn around to pick something up, turn back and the door is closed again.
Even if polio was just in the mountains of Afghanistan there is no need for the rest of the world to get the vaccine. It's all about $$$ - they will never stop.
