It took me longer than I feel it should have. At first the only vague pattern I could see was city starting with 'At' then a city in the far east, then a city starting 'At' and so on.

That's not accurate. We have a lot of hills and mountain ranges. We aren't a low lying archepeligo like the Marshall Islands. We will lose some coastline like everyone else.
