Fun fact: if all gold currently known to exist on Earth was purified and gathered into one cube, the cube would only have a side length of about 100 metres.
I guess that's true for US Americans, for everyone else it's vice versa (personally, I've heard first time of Toledo, Ohio many years after I've visited Toledo in Spain)
I am really shocked that 65% of people got the gold question wrong. Does anyone realize how much 0.1% of the earth's crust would be? That would literally be millions of tonnes!
The density of the crust also varies (between 2,6 g/cm³ for continental crust and 3,0 g/cm³ for oceanic), but on average is 2,8 g/cm³ = 2,8 tons/m³
So the overall mass of the crust is about 2,8 tons/m³ * 7,5×10¹⁸ m³ = 2×10¹⁹ tons
0,0000004% of the crust is gold, so the mass of all the gold in earth crust is 2×10¹⁹ tons * 0,0000004% = 8×10¹⁰ tons = 80 000 000 000 tons, so roughly 80 billion tons.
“ That would literally be millions of tonnes!”
There are anyway - billions of tons of gold.
We are all here to learn, so just chill and have fun ;)
Me: it's not even a movie, it's a city, so false
15km* 500.000.000km2 = 7.500.000.000 km³ = 7,5×10¹⁸ m³
