All these questions were guessed less than 25% of the time in our general knowledge quizzes. Do you have what it takes to be a trivia genius and get more than 1/3rd correct?
Indeed. Who was he afraid of? His future brothers and sisters?
Also, if there were no other humans, Adam and Eve's children would have to reproduce with each other, or with them.
Cain then settled in the land of Nod, found a wife, and built a city. A city, presumably, composed entirely of his brothers and sisters, and perhaps his children, nieces and nephews.
Not that the Bible has any strong need to make sense, but it definitely makes more sense if God created other people than just Adam and Eve.
According to the what was said in Genesis, as well as the references Paul makes in 1 Cor 15 (and likely more places), the effects of sin (disease and death) had only just entered into the world at that point. The genetic problems with our current bodies would not have been around at that time (evidenced by the long lifespans), meaning that a brother and sister reproducing at that time would not have had the repercussions that it does currently.
In fact, we might be able to infer from Paul's letter to the Corinthians that Adam sinned before having any children - that he and Eve were the only human beings at this point. This would not be required, as there may be other explanations for why Paul said what he did (under the inspiration of God), however we have no objective evidence to assume otherwise.
That said, we have no idea how many people existed when Cain slew Abel, as we don't know how many years passed between the fall and this incident.
Genesis 4:25 says, 'Adam had relations with his wife again; and she gave birth to a son, and named him Seth, for, she said, "God has appointed me another child in place of Abel, because Cain killed him."' Then the genealogy beginning in Genesis 5:3 begins with 'When Adam had lived 130 years, he fathered a son in his own likeness, according to his image, and named him Seth.'
It's clear from 4:25 that Seth was born after the death of Abel, and from 5:3 that Adam's bloodline flows through Seth, who must have been Adam's firstborn son, other than Abel, who was dead, and Cain, who was banished. So, unless God created other people than Adam and Eve, there was only Adam, Eve, Cain, and Abel, and possibly daughters of Adam and Eve, and children of Cain (with Eve or his sisters) and Abel (with Eve or his sisters).
I was stumped when God didn't work as the answer, then felt dumb when I read who it was. I guess killing way more than one quarter of the world's population doesn't count!
I knew a semiquaver was a note. Tried half note, quarter note, eighth note, 32nd note, quarter rest, half rest, dotted eighth....skipped right over 16th note and didn't even notice.
Also, people should read up on how milk surpassed wool as New Zealand's primary export. Really interesting stuff.
Tried only "16th" for the note thing. Shouldn't that be accepted? (Maybe not... I'm a musician, but a French one so I have no clue if the "note" part is essential.)
Wow I've got no right answers in this one, shame on me. Tibet's i know because of the dog lhasa apso, very common here in brazil, but i always forget that. I hope for more like this jaja. cool.
I got six out of nineteen and still managed 3/5, which shows how challenging this quiz was. It was fun though, and it is always nice to be challenged and to learn some interesting new things. Thank you.
Surely God killed 1/4 of the worlds population (if you want to be pedantic he kills everyone). If you mean exactly 1/4 it should say exactly 1/4 of the population.
Is milk really new zealand's biggest export? i had a quick check and it seems that the biggest category is 'dairy' including eggs and honey. the amount of milk exported is likely to be a fairly small percentage of the total. Most of it is likely to be cheese, butter and other derivatives of milk such as whey, milk protein and casein.
I remember hearing once that it was called aa because it created sharp rocks that made people say "Ah! Ah!" when they walked over it. But it seems like that was just completely made up, apparently it means "stony rough lava" in Hawaiian.
this is probably the only quiz where I can score 13/16 and get 5 points. I had no idea what an affogato even was, so I spent some time guessing random possible coffee ingredients like chocolate or cinnamon before I gave up
19/20, I think I knew a lot from previous general knowledge quizzes like phobia, Cain, a lot I just knew especially ??s about food....but kaboomed on largest country.....love these quizzes, thx QM!
But I only got nine of the others

...but the question is still correct, I guess

I wonder if "Aa" was actually just what people said in response, not what they actually call it.
I Cain't believe the answer to the Biblical question.
(Man I la)ughed when I saw the answer to the question about Quezon City.
I wooldn't have guess the one about New Zealand.
I cairn't believe I got the one about hiking.
