3:50 here -- it's nice when I take one of these and they all spring to mind and I don't have to spend two minutes "trying to remember" something like I do with some of the geography by letter quizzes.
yes somehow this can be easier than like list all the countries starting with p. Your mind can lock up then sometimes, or just completely be emptied out.
Really? I thought that the English spelling is identical to the Spanish. Ah! I get it! You must be a Basque. Do you want the quizmaster to accept Iruña as an alternative?
The exact origin of fries is quite obscure, actually. Was it first invented in France or in Belgium ? And does it matter ? The fact is that fries were popularized in France and Belgium around the same time, and I think both countries can be recognized as the inventors of fries. Then again, I understand that acknowledging only half of that origin by calling them "french" can be annoying to Belgians ;)
The official name of the currency of the UK is pound sterling and "Iran" is kind of vague for the Persia question. And I'd appreciate it if these quizzes were less focused on the US (Puget Sound & Potomac seems a little too specific compared to the other questions) and more about international geography.
America is part of the world, believe it or not. Notice how many Americans are here complaining about there being a question on Piccadilly Circus? You should endeavor to be more like them.
No one is going to stop you from cheating, but the spirit of the site is to test your knowledge. What do you gain from cheating on a site like this one? It's more fun to see how you compare, learn, and test your knowledge on the next quiz, or the same one later.
Right… there are 50 US states, and the question says “the 51st US state?”, which means the answer is someplace that will potentially become a state in the future.
Your comment confused me until I remembered that Americans use 'pantomime' to mean a mime show and not a Christmas fairytale comedy play... I guess we're all confused
I was about to turn in the quiz with all but the "circus" one but then I stopped and I realized: "Hold on, is it parliament?" It clearly wasn't but that would be a very funny answer.
Me: "This is easy!"
*goes on*
*got 8/24*
Apart from that the quiz is really good!
2. Only 5/24 of these are related to the U.S.
3. This is an American site.
