It's intentionally unclear, but I wouldn't consider Moana to be set in Hawaii- it's much more likely to be the southern Pacific islands. Lilo and Stitch is the quintessential "Hawaiian-set Disney Movie," but obviously that starts with a different letter.

Agreed. Moana is set primarily on the open ocean, and partially on the fictional Polynesian island of Motonui. The fact that there is another Disney animated movie that is actually set in Hawaii makes it even more confusing.

Not saying the question should be removed, but the wording could probably be tweaked.

Adding to this (since this quiz is featured today) -- please correct the Moana question. That movie isn't explicitly set in Hawaii.

Moana is never necessarily stated to be in Hawaii, just general Polynesia (although Maui may point to Hawaii, it is never outright stated)

Maui is a traditional god in Polynesian religions including New Zealand and Hawaii. The deity inspired the character and Island independent of one another.

Here's one for "X":

"Only letter of the alphabet that doesn't have anything sufficiently related to Hawaii that begins with it to warrant a place on the "Hawaii A-Z" JetPunk quiz.

A note on terminology to avoid possible confusion: In Hawaii, the term "Hawaiians" refers to people with Native Hawaiian (i.e., Polynesian) ancestry, wherever they live in Hawaii or not.

For people who live in the state of Hawaii, regardless of ancestry, it is better to use "Hawaii residents."
