Have you ever considered adding more countries to this, such as Somaliland, Abkhazia, Artsakh, South Ossetia, Transnistria, and Sawhiri Arab Democratic Republic?
These arent countries, these are micronations/territories INSIDE Countries, as Transnistria is Technically inside Moldova but isnt an official Country since it cant also be seen on a map
That depends on who you ask. Many of them has de facto power over their territories and function as a state. Saharawi Arab Democratic republic is officially accepted as a country by many other countries and by the African Union.
pretty sure it's specifically countries recognized by the UN, and observer states(such as the Vatican City). Also the reason Palestine isn't included as a country.
I am 18 months old, can type all countries and their capitals, distinguish flags of all countries, able to speak 30+ languages at scholarly level, have been to 70+ countries, had handshake with country leaders of all countries I've visited, played some hide and seek with arctic seals, and peed all over the south pole to show Dominance.
I would like to hear stories from other fellow baby travelers, preferably under age of 3.
This is because those areas are external regions or territories of the two countries you mentioned. The Falklands, the archipelago off of Argentina, is a territory of the UK, same as Bermuda or the British Virgin Islands. French Guiana, the region next to Suriname, is an overseas department of France, with similar status to Hawaii->US.
Palestine should be recognized as a country. Only a handful of western european and north american countries do not recognize it as a country, along with australia.
What about no. Jetpunk makes their own rules about what is a country and what is not. And according to them, Palestine is not a real country. And I agree with them too. They may be recognized by most of the world, but they are not in the UN. Vatican City, Kosovo, and Taiwan aren't in the UN either, but they are legitimate countries. Palestine does not really function as its own country as it is occupied by Israel. Those other three countries have full control over their territory.
LOL. There are literally countless things that could have been called a country "prior to occupation" by someone else. By your supposed logic, it's "a shame" that the Abbasid Caliphate, the Aztec Empire, and the Tang Dynasty are not shown on this map. LOL.
It took me so many times but I finally got it all! Now I am working on getting faster. All of you who can get it in under 5 minutes are very impressive!
I am going to report JETPUNK to relevant authorities in Ukraine and my homecountry (Latvia). It is illegal in these countries to recognize russian claim to Crimea. You are violating laws of several countries by doing so on this quiz and other quizes that include Ukraine/russia.
Dit in 2:35 after a bit of practice, I've noticed that the 2:30 barrier is really the limit for how fast the website can proceed what you're writing, not giving up tho!
Why would there be plans to change it? The instructions say "Use the common, English name.". I've never heard any native English speaker say or write "Türkiye" instead of "Turkey". Ever. Google might be big enough to influence language and word usage, but they do not directly control it by sole dictate.
Uh, there's nothing to "fix". Russia has controlled the Crimean peninsula for almost a decade. Whether them taking it over was morally justifiable or not, and whether you politically approve of it or not, it is the reality on the ground. If every piece of land that some country took over by violent force at some point in history was shown as being under some previous owner's control, the map of the world would look a hell of a lot different than how it actually does, and would, in fact, be downright unrecognizable. Stop living in an imaginary dream world, and accept reality, harsh though it may be.
I'm going to lose sleep over this. I did this quiz half a second ago and there was a mystery country in the middle of the African answers "IN SWAT" It was an extra country and when I hovered over the map it was not there. I just did the quiz again and IN SWAT is not one of the answers. Also the first time I did the quiz, el Salvador autocorrected to The Saviour in the answers, but it stayed el Salvador the second time.
Inquiring minds want to know! Are these little Easter eggs for us geography nerds?
After weeks of trying and learning all the countries and flags, I am down to a time of 6:48. Once I stop my silly typos while speeding I could get an even better score.

Completed in 8:18, typing as fast as I can (which is admittedly not very fast) but the people getting under four 4 minutes are pretty impressive, that’s like around one word/country per second.
'Gambia' should be listed as The Gambia and 'Bahamas' should be listed as The Bahamas, for the official name of The Gambia is Republic of The Gambia, and the official name of The Bahamas is Commonwealth of The Bahamas.
I decided to make a list of all the countries and copy/paste it. It did not work, only a couple countries were accepted for some reason. I even put "dr" before "drc" and "uk" before "ukraine" like why didn't it work?
> "Also the reason Palestine isn't included as a country"
but palestine is a UN observer state. if that was actually their reasoning then taiwan wouldn't be included because that ISN'T a UN observer.
